I DO REMEMBER THE CHIQUITA BANANA LADY, LOVE HER FRUITY HAT THAT MUST WEIGH HER DOWN, MUST BE WHAT KEEPS HER SO THIN, CARRYING ALL THAT FRUIT AROUND IN HIGH HEELS ALL DAY. MAYBE ILL TRY THAT
Wow...that must've been when they first came out with bananas!!! Apparently no one knew what they were for...hence, the instructional video!! :) Very educational...I shall NEVER keep my bananas in the re-fridg-er-ator!! :) tee/hee!! :)
Oh how I loved her. I think it would be a great idea to resurrect her, don't you? Maybe she wasn't politically correct for some reason :)
I don't remember it. But I love the "old" stuff before all the computer enhanced and digital. So colorful and very informative!
Awesome! I vaguely remember that commercial, but I may just have to put that on my blog this week :) What a find! Thanks so much.
GM and what a fun trip down memory lane for me...I use to love all these great commerical's years ago...thanks for the fun...May you have a great day my friend...hugs and smiles Gl♥ria
Yes indeedy I 'member the nanna lady. So you have acid reflux too? Do you take meds for it and what helps most?
I've never seen the ad, but is there anything you cant find on facebook? Not to mention being a Caribbean girl, we did not need convincing to eat bananas!
This ad does remind me of a cartoon shown on Sesame Street many years ago, I think her name was 'fruita mansana' she sang about the benefits of eating fruit and she was very similar to the banana lady.
Have a great day!
Flashback...Wow, great memories!
And Diane, it means that we are old...but like you, it doesn't matter to me ...life is good!
KeeTha...as Bob Hope would say..
thanks for the memories!!!
~hugs~

I remember and I must confess that I sing it from time to time.
I meant you-tube not facebook!
I had a cat that I named Chiquita JOe after her. And my guy, Jimmy Buffet pays homage to her on one of his songs.
Nobody dances like 'qita.
I remember the chiquita banana lady!!! SO, that can't make you THAT old b/c I'm only 26!
And btw...WHY is it you can't visit my blog?!
Keetha,
I don't remember the whole commercial but I could never forget her...and sing her song from time to time when I buy bananas. I loved her hat and the way she could dance with all that fruit in her hat.
Commercials like that were cartoons to us...we were not allowed to watch much tv growing up...you had to be doing something productive.
Thanks for the fun memory....
For a question you had for me earlier...The other girl with Amy is her best friend Leila...Leila had alot of uti's and her and her husband after 12 plus years had not had children...they did tests and surgery and she had uterine cancer that had spread to the lining of her stomach and the artery behind her liver.....she just had a ct scan and they told her yesterday after 2 rounds of chemotherapy the tumor they could not remove had shrunk 40%....PRAISE THE LORD!
love your blog and sense of humor...you're great
hugs
debbie
Oh, I had forgotten all about her...this was great!! Thanks for the fun reminder...it is amazing how things were so simple back then.
I remember it well.
i do not remember that, but i thoroughly enjoyed it!
I remember the woman with the fruit on her head.
Isn't it amazing what you can find on YouTube?
ROFLMBO that is so weird and funny and unusual I am going to have to put that on my blog and show all my friends that. Hee :)
i'm sorry I do not remember this commercial from seeing this but I do remember it from watching a show on the food network between 1998-2003, when we lived in the US.
All my boys first foods were bananas, hehe so smooshy. :)
