Many of you have asked where in the world I've been.

All I know is that after 7 plus years of blogging and a different lappy, which I don’t like, I seem to have lost my blogging fervor.

Someday, when you least expect it, I will post again.

For those of you still waiting I say thank you.

Meanwhile, I am rather prolific on twitter. Find me: @KeethaB

Indiana Sky Watch

.
O Lord, our Lord,
How majestic is your name
In all the Earth!

You have set your glory
Above the heavens.

When I consider your heavens,
The work of your fingers,

The moon and the stars,
Which you have set in place,

What is man that you are mindful of him,
The son of man that you care for him?

With one hand, and driving with the other - - - I coulda gotten a picture of ANOTHER one of LL Cool J's limos.

This time right here in Marion.

I kid you not one bit.

Hodge and Podge

First for the Hodge:

Had to stop at the store on my way home from school today to stock up on staples - - -

If you have these two items life is good.

Now for the Podge:

Thar's snow in them thar clouds!!!!

I kid you not.

By the time I got home and took this picture, it had degenerated into sneet - - - - but I PROMISE it was snow hitting my windshield earlier.

Oh the Pure Unadulerated Joy

.
Recently when our cable TV provider DROPPED CBS, we switched back to Dish so I wouldn't miss any more IMPORTANT football games.

Well - - - - we have found an unexpected "blessing" on Dish.

The World Fishing Network.

Fishing shows.

24/7

In HD even.

Hubby is ecstatic.

Can you imagine the endless boredom???

Poignant Memory of Yesteryear

.

Ever since I stood in this spot in early September, and breathed the pungent aroma of sunbaked pine into my very soul - - -

I have been unable to walk away from the memories, continue to smell the pine, and long to return for a sojourn.

It's nearly a compulsion.

Friday Sky Watch

.
Oh Beautiful for spacious skies
For amber waves of grain

For purple mountain majesties
Above the fruited plains.

America, America,
God shed His grace on thee

And crown thy good
With brotherhood

Succession Success

.
Took my Biology class out for a short field trip to observe natural succession - - - both primary and secondary.

It was a success!!!

Here they are - - - my Biology class AND my homeroom. I believe this is the third year they've had to put up with me as their class sponsor.

Brave kids!!!

How do you like Rachel's socks?

Checking out secondary succession.

In the background you can even see secondary succession developing into a climax community. And what would a climax community be in Indiana you might ask ???? Well, I'll tell you - - - a temperate hardwood forest.

Just look at the power of observation!

Can't you see the wheels turning?
The smoke rising?
CAUTION: Brains at Work!

Some of them even took a closer look!

We found this lovely teasel seedhead.
Isn't she a beauty?
Wonder why I call her a she?
Better check out your plant birds and bees!!! ;-)

Windy City Drive Through

.
I love Chicago.

On our recent trip we drove right through it - - - but NOT in this. I did have a lot of fun imagining that someone like LL Cool J was riding in it, even though I've no real clue who LL even is - - - - sorry LL.

And that sky line - - - -

Isn't she a gorgeous city? Click on this one and it will get bigger.

Oh, and look who showed up in Rockford and surprised us!!! He declares he never wants to have children, but can't keep his hands off his niece and nephew when he's with them. He even brought a little match box car in his pocket to entertain Mackinley during the service. Smart man.

Family Road Trip

.

On Friday six of us (Dad, sister Pam, Keri, Mackinley, Piper, and myself) traveled to Illinois together to attend Aunt Kitty's funeral.

While we are grieving her loss, there was great comfort in being together.

We've never traveled in quite this combination before and it was an adventure. The next posts, all the way through the Pumpkin Patch posts are about the trip.

This is how little Piper traveled much of the way to Illinois. What a little doll.

Lunch stop.

Piper woke up long enough to visit with us.

Mackinley loved his mommy's drink.

Gathered round, waitin' for the food.

Just chillin' at the Oasis.
.

Night at the Hampton

.
After traveling most of the day, it was wonderful to get to our hotel rooms.

Little Miss Piper, quite grown up propped on bed pillows.

I want some jammies like that.

Mackinley was fascinated with the adjoining rooms, and the puffy beds, and the doors, and well - - - just about everything.

He's just so adorable, Sister Pam HAD to give him a big squeeze.

Kickin' back, enjoying the moment.

Pretty fancy digs!!!

Oh my, just look - - -

This nice hotel has the TP hanging BACKWARDS!!!!
(Fancy point and all)

Bye for now - - -

Coulter's Pumpkin Patch

.
Remember my Pumpkin Patch Envy?

Well I found the cure yesterday. Coulter's Pumpkin Patch in Westville, Indiana. We were traveling past on our way to Aunt Kitty's funeral, the sun was shining, it was a beautiful day - - - so we stopped and I was able to click away on my camera to my heart's content.

The giant pumpkin "hook-set"

I noticed this as we passed by this summer and HOPED it meant there would be pumpkins here in the fall.

Pumpkins, gourds, and all kinds of other things

Just look at the color!

Talk about a family photo op!
My dad - "Peepaw"
My grandson - Mackinley
And my Number One Daughter - Keri

Two of my kids with pumpkins
Whew - - - now I'm a REAL mom.

Come on, you can admit it - - -

This is the cutest little "pumpkin-sitter" you've ever seen!!!

Oh how I love this one - - -
