Many of you have asked where in the world I've been.

All I know is that after 7 plus years of blogging and a different lappy, which I don’t like, I seem to have lost my blogging fervor.

Someday, when you least expect it, I will post again.

For those of you still waiting I say thank you.

Meanwhile, I am rather prolific on twitter. Find me: @KeethaB

Sunday With the Gran-Puppies

.

AKA:  Puppy Love

Two of our children have blessed us with gran-puppies.

Youngest daughter Korie is mamma to two "weens," Buckley and Rosie.

Buckley was abused in a puppy mill by a man, so he was VERY slow to warm up to his Papoo.

This just about broke puppy-lover Papoo's heart.

We are currently in the middle of our "2012 Grand Married Children's Tour" and Papoo had time to earn Buckley's favor.

Rosie was generous with her lickie kisses right off the bat - - - but Buck was a bit more stand-offish.

Slowly but surely Papoo was able to wriggle his way into Buckley's heart - - -

And once there, in Buckley's heart, Buck proceeded to shove and push little Miss Rosie out of the way.

So cute.

So fun.

So like our flesh-and-blood grans!

Oldest son Kelly is daddy to Beage, BJ, our only beagle gran-puppy.

Beage has adored his Papoo from day one,

Following him from room to room,

Giving him lickie kisses,

And yes,

Even sleeping with him!!!

That's what's been happening in our cities and our lives, what about yours?

Surprising the Grans

.

AKA: The Third Stop on the Great 2012 Married Kids Tour

Warning:  This stop is all about the grans.  When the kids start having kids, they give away their right to be the center of attention.

That's just how it is.

That's just how it's always been.

Get over it.

;-)

When we arrived at our oldest daughter, Keri's, house there was no one home to greet us except the stack-o-jack-o-lanterns.

That's 'cause Keri was off picking the grans up from school.

The grans didn't know we were coming.

We broke in, we believe in breaking and entering.  It isn't hard when they leave the front door unlocked for you.

I got the little treats for the grans all set up where they would find them upon entry.

Papoo went into the kitchen and did what Papoos do - - - searched the cupboards for snacks and chocolate.

Kama went outside with her camera to capture the gran surprise.

She didn't have long to wait.

The family van pulled in the driveway - -

And the kids jumped out on the run.

There was glee.

There was joy.

There were hugs and kisses.

And there was cheering.

Lots of cheering.

Then the grans lit into their surprises.

This was followed by more celebrating.

Mack said I could see his heart 'cause it was shining through.

Smart boy, he.

More celebrating over a perfect spelling test.

Little Sister Piper celebrated big brother's spelling success too.

A little later it was off to that very fine dining establishment, called DQ, which can be found in most local neighborhoods.

There we all filled our little tummies and indulged in joy and laughter.

This included making silly faces.

Lots of silly faces.

And there's more to come - - -

The Great 2012 Married Children Tour - Stop 2

.
The second stop on our 2012 Married Children Tour was Fort Wayne, Indiana at the home of our oldest son, Kelly.

I snapped a photo of this photo on the wall of our bedroom.

It pretty much says it ALL about the differences between Kelly and his bride, Cathy.

Kelly is "out there" and Cathy is not.

Kelly is ornery, Cathy is not.

Kelly is loud, Cathy is not.

Kelly will say anything at any time, Cathy gets embarrassed.

I will leave you to figure out through which parental gene-lines these character traits flowed.

I'll just let you know they did not ALL come from me.

And since the top picture is probably going to embarrass Cathy half to death,  and since I FORGOT to take any pictures last evening while we enjoyed our dinner together out on the town,

Let me post a couple of really good pictures of the two of them taken previously.  These show the pure sweetness that is Cathy and a little less of the orneriness that is Kelly.

Because really, down deep inside and hidden very well by all the bravado, is a very gentle heart in that oldest son of mine.

We are so tickled to have Cathy in our family for just over a year now.

She made this fun photo grouping on their living room wall commemorating their wedding day.

And this picture of one of those pictures says much about our son's personality - - - cars are a BIG DEAL with him.

Someday maybe I'll try to tell you HOW big.

.

NEWS ALERT

.

We interrupt our regularly scheduled 2012 Married Children's Tour for this breaking news:

I HAVE SHINGLES!!!

I've never had shingles before, but FH who moonlights by day as an ER PA just confirmed my fears.

The painful rash I have developed is my very first bout of shingles.

Sometimes it is rather handy to have your own personal traveling diagnostician.

True, I DID have chicken pox as a kid.

True, my mother suffered with shingles from time to time.  (I blame HER gene pool)

So here I am - - - on my first EVER Married Children's Tour - - - blessed with shingles.

I knew you'd want to be the first to know.

Making the World a Better Place, One Frag at a Time

.
It's Friday which means it's time for us to join Mrs. 4444 in improving world literature (uh hem) one frag at a time.  Hope you'll join us.

The day before the first day of Autumn I got around to Fall-izing my outdoor vignette.

Yes, I was early.

Not as compared to many of you - - - but for me one day ahead of time was definitely early.

The two large flowers in the mix are heavy metal.  This is heavy metal I can enjoy.

That other heavy metal?  Not so much.

A few years ago our daughter Korie adopted Buckley from a puppy mill.  He was a terrorized little soul afraid of his own shadow at the time.

Thank goodness, he has outgrown most of his neuroses under her gentle care.

Needless to say, he thinks Korie walks on water.  He ADORES her.

* * * * * * * * * * * *

Well, just lookie here!!!  More Badger Bling for moi, thanks to Chris and Korie.

I'll be wearing it tomorrow night when my boys meet Nebraska.

I hope it helps, 'cause my boys have been struggling on the gridiron this fall.

* * * * * * * * * * * *

Several years after getting Buckley, Korie and Chris added a little sister to the mix, Rosie.

Here are the kids settling down in their little "den."

FH says the weens, as we call them collectively, should be named Click and Clack for the sound their little toe nails make as they patter across the hardwood.

If you've never heard Click and Clack on NPR, you should.

They've even had their portrait painted, those lucky little weens!

* * * * * * * * * * * *

How about this?  A little "kissing" Buckley and Rosie S&P set.

Well, almost.  In the case of Buckley and Rosie the pinks and blues should be switched.

* * * * * * * * * * * *

This past week our little gran, Piper, was sick with strep.  For comfort she chose the big stuffed Birthday Trout we gave her.

Evidently Birthday Trout is still a BIG hit!

I forgot to get pictures of our stop, on our 2012 Married Kids Tour, with our son Kelly and his wife Cathy.

Oops!!

I'll try to do better as we spend the next couple of days with our daughter Keri, her hubby Jason, and of course our grans.

First Stop on the 2012 Married Kids Tour

.
Yesterday Fisherhubby and I embarked on the 2012 Married Kids Tour.

First Stop - home of baby girl Korie Nae and her hubby Chris.   Isn't she the cutest?  Well, you should see her HOUSE.  Nope, not today but I've got pix and I'll show them off in another post.

Of course getting together equals eating.  Our lovely waitress took this picture of all of us together at the table.

Notice FH went all out to dress up for the occasion.  He's just good like that.

His little girl didn't seem to care - she loves him anyway.

I forgot to take a picture of the yummy food, but if you're ever in the Broad Ripple section of Indy, Mama Carolla's was a VERY yummy European-esque stop.

It's a restaurant in an old house.  Very Tuscan.

It even offers a lovely patio dining area which we didn't use last night as it was cold and rainy.

We opted not to get wet and then freeze to death.

This ends the FIRST installment of our Korie Nae stop in Indy.

Stay tuned for later installments featuring the grand puppies and Chris and Korie's lovely home.
