There's a lot of "cottage love" out there in bloggy land, so when we moved into this town, I noticed right away that there are a lot of cute cottage style homes 'round these here parts!
Today was a beautiful sunny day, so I asked Fisherhubby to drive me around so I could get out, walk up and down sidewalks, and take some pictures to share with all of you.
I really wish I could show you the INSIDE of these cute little houses, but somehow I drew the line at walking up to the doors of complete strangers, knocking, and asking if I could put a tour of their delightful little cottage on my blog!
We'll all just have to settle for gazing at the OUTSIDES and imagining the INSIDES.
This is one of my favorites! Look at the scallops in the peaks of the gables. The white picket fence is the PERFECT compliment.
I liked the side of this one as well as the front - - - so tried to capture both in one pose.
Neat as a pin with just a flounce of fluff at the windows under the porch roof.
Tiny, tiny! Is it a doll house??? But no - - - there was a grown-up size car in the drive.
Now, for the quiz - - - who recognizes from whence I got the quote in this post title?

I can't recall the title, but the words go, A tent or a cottage, why should I care, He's building a mansion for me over there.
A Child of the King?
So cute. So what town in Wisconsin are you in? You probably said at one time, but my brain has slept since then.
I just love the Cape Cod style house you have picked as your fave!
Maybe they want to sell? hehe.
Have a Great Day Keetha!!
Cindy
They are really nice little homes aren't they. Your fav is my fav too.
Go ahead and knock they won't think you are weird...snort.
These are the size houses I would like. No big mansion for me.
Before reading your post, the yellow with the dormer windows was my choice also and it looks like a for sale sign...right?
The tan house with white trim & dormer windows was 2nd but didn't see for sale sign.
"Build me just a cabin, in the corner of Glory Land"!!!!
The second photo, although not the prettiest house, is very much the style of the house I grew up in in Iowa. I bet I know the floor plan inside.

VERY cute!!!
A tent or a cottage...."A Child of the King." OK...what do I win??? Maybe that charmin' little yellow cottage? Heeehehehe!
Com'on girl, man up and knock on the doors. We would love a tour. I bet they'd let ya in just to be featured on your beautiful blog! :o)
God bless ya and have the most incredible week!!!
Love, love all these homes. I would so love to take a little cottage somewhere and furnish it totally with second hand things! There are so many treasures out there. These all seem like such 'real' houses. Does that even make sense?
Ok girlfriend, there is a for sale sign outside that pretty yellow cottage with the perfect white picket fence! Pull up the listing and get us interior photots! ha!
We have needs! We MUST get peeks inside! Or the natives will become restless! ha!
Thanks for the tour of the charming cottages!
Cheers!
Tina
Love the neighborhood cottage tour! They are so sweet :) I dream of a small little place - with a garage (for all those boxes I haven't unpacked!)

Oh those are so cute. Cape Cods are my favorite style. Thanks for popping over, always so nice to see you. Debbie
Looks a lot like Marion.
I have no clue on the quote. These house are so sweet. Makes me want to pack up and move there. Really, I would love a cute little cottage at this stage in my life.
Hey I remember some of those houses! Looks like a beautiful day. I know I'm late but you title is from "A Child of the King" -- my brother sang that song for many years, so as soon as I saw the title, my mind went to the song. Good memories.
