Many of you have asked where in the world I've been.

All I know is that after 7 plus years of blogging and a different lappy, which I don’t like, I seem to have lost my blogging fervor.

Someday, when you least expect it, I will post again.

For those of you still waiting I say thank you.

Meanwhile, I am rather prolific on twitter. Find me: @KeethaB

Still Walkin' After All These Years

.
Oh I do lie!!!! It's only been two and a half weeks since I started this walking thing.

I'm so glad I didn't decide to start right off with RUNNING or something really stupid like that, 'cause my right ankle HURTS after just a mile or so of easy walking. (That's code for barely moving.)

Of course these new walking shoes help tremendously.

So far I've:
Walked at 5:30 AM at the Y BEFORE SCHOOL
3 times, including today BY MYSELF!!!

Walked at the Y at 8:30 AM
3 times

Walked around a drainage pond "lake" twice

Zigged and Zagged up and down
our cul-de-sac multiple times,
But for the life of me
I'm not sure how many!!!

I do know this:
Today I walked 2.45 miles - - -
About half of that this morning
Before school and the rest
in the cul-de-sac a few minutes ago.

Perhaps you wonder why in the world
I keep talking about this.
(Don't worry, I wonder too)
It's because exercise and I
Have been strangers for
Soooooooooo looooooong.

I'm shamelessly begging and pleading
For words of encouragement
To keep me going.

Shamelessly.

Woooo to the Whooooo - - - I KNEW you'd pump me up with praise for my lowly little insignificant accomplishment!!!!!

Insignificant? It's GREAT that you are walking -- watch out for that right ankle though -- don't stress it too much!

I used to walk MILES every day when I lived in NYC. Now? Oy, don't ask!

Maybe you can inspire me to begin walking again. It is such excellent exercise.

You GO, girl.

You keep it up Keetha Honey! I am SO proud of you.

I have started walking too and I understand - I really do. I jumped on a bicycle today and got no where fast. My hip sockets hurt SO bad. And WOW but I was out of breath. So that is my new goal.... I am GOING to ride that bike a mile soon.

Hang in there Keetha and keep walking!!

Yay, Yay, Yay, you're doing good! Keep up the good work! Way to go girl!
How's that? ;)
Seriously, I know how you feel, so good job. I started walking our stairs every morning about 7 weeks ago. 26 stairs (up & down). I'm up to 18 times. I'd like to say I've lost weight, which I haven't, but I do feel better and I don't think I'm...ummm...sagging as much!

Keep it up!

OT - I appreciated your insightful comment you left on my blog.

First, could you order me a pair of those walking shoes.....cause I've never met a tennis shoe that liked my feet! My left ankle kills me after just a short walk....then my husband has to shame me the rest of the way! I'm such a wimp. This morning I woke and said I think I'll RUN today..of course, I knew it was raining. :)

Well done.

We walk in the local Wal-Mart. (There's a Central Super Wal-Mart now, no less -- it's on 123 between Easley and Clemson.)

Brenda - I have a stairway right here in my house too, but I guess I'm not ready for the CLIMBING part just yet.

NancyGrayce - I'm SO WITH YOU on the ankle pain thing. Here's what I've figured out so far: I CAN'T go as fast as my friend Diane who has already been walking for a long time. If I slow it down to my own pace I can walk longer and farther without the ankle pain.

Dr. LaBar - A Wal-Mart in Central!!! Wow, you guys are in the big leagues now!!!

Mom - You're doing AWESOME!!! I am SO PROUD OF YOU! I had the same exact thought as Haley...I wish we could all walk together!

I walked BY MYSELF at 5:30 AM again today!!!!!! 1.88 miles this morning. (I have a little pedometer) It's sunny, so I'll probably walk some more in the cul-de-sac tonight.

But remember - - - I'm not FAST yet.

Kuddos to you! It's not easy getting up and getting going.

Also, those shoes are the best. :-)

YEAH Keetha! I am so proud of you! You inspire me. Where can I get some of those shoes (LOL)
HIgh five!

Keetha, I'm so proud of you! We start and stop. We were to start back this week but rains and storms have kept us from it. Well, that's my story right now.

That's your story and you're stickin' to it, right JudyBug?

Julie said...

Yeah Keetha! 5:30 in the morning??!! You are my hero. I'm usually walking to the bathroom at that time (and then back to bed). Of course, I do the same at 12:00, 2:00 and 4:00 also. ha ha. I'm sure that was WAY too much information!

Keetha Broyles said...

Oh Julie, I do understand THAT kind of information!!!!

You go, girl! Now that the prenisone dose is down my knees aren't as swollen, so today I walked too!

Keetha Broyles said...

I know they give prednisone for allergic reactions and I thought it "dried" them out. I guess I didn't realize it could also make your knees swell.

My mom used to take it for her rheumatoid arthritis (well actually she took plain old cortisone and it did make her face really round - - - it was called a "moon face."
