Many of you have asked where in the world I've been.

All I know is that after 7 plus years of blogging and a different lappy, which I don’t like, I seem to have lost my blogging fervor.

Someday, when you least expect it, I will post again.

For those of you still waiting I say thank you.

Meanwhile, I am rather prolific on twitter. Find me: @KeethaB

Sunday Rerun - Pride Will Kill SOMETHING

.

A big thank you to Chari over at Happy to Design for hosting Sunday Favorites.

Pride Goeth Before - - -
(First posted on 8/31/07)

A DEAD lawn.

Greg, known to most of you as Fisherhubby, loves his yard. He fertilizes. He kills the dandelions. He mows (only AFTER it rains) with the blade set high. He never mows if it is dry.

Usually his lawn is the envy of the neighborhood. People have STOPPED in front of our house to ask what he does to keep his lawn so green. Once the professional lawn care guy who was working on the neighbor's yard asked him how he kept it so green, said Greg was ruining his reputation since our lawn was so much greener than the rest of the neighborhood.

Well no more - - -

This is how our lawn looks today!!!

Earlier in the summer Greg decided to wage war on the ONE weed in his lawn that he couldn't seem to get rid of - - - - CRAB GRASS. So, he sprayed the lawn with a product that claimed to kill ONLY crab grass. I asked him how the herbicide was going to know crab grass from the more desirable kind - - - - I was ignored.

After weeks of no rain, we thought our yard, like ALL the yards in Marion was brown because it needed water. BUT - - - the rain came and we still have a brown lawn. Actually, if you look closely you will see it isn't quite ALL brown - - - there's a LITTLE green in there - - - -

Look closely - - -

Look VERY closely - - -

Do you see it??? - - -

Do you recognize this small green patch?

Or this one???

Or how about this one???

Do you know what they are? These tiny patches of green in our otherwise dead lawn?

CRAB GRASS!!!!!

The neighbor's yards are green again.

Even the empty lot across the street is green again, and it gets NO CARE except an occasional mowing with a tractor!!!

NO ONE is jealous of our grass any more.

Hmmmmm - - - I wonder if there could POSSIBLY be a lesson in here somewhere?!?

Addendum: Remember, this is an OLD post. Maybe on another Sunday rerun I will show the contortions he went through to FIX his lawn, but in the meantime, do not lose any sleep over Fisherhubby and his yard - - - it is all better now.

I'll bet he is just sick after all of his loving care on the lawn. I know I would be. I can just feel for him.

No wonder fisherhubby goes ice fishing. Really he is just sitting n the cold by himself with photos of his green lawn rocking back and forth asking Why?Why?Why?

That my dear, was funny. Very funny. I'm sorry for Fisherhubby, as I'm sure it bothered him to no end, but I chuckled quite hard. Poor sad lawn. Happy Crabgrass!

Hi Keetha...

Ohhh noooo!!! I bet your honey was just sick! You know, I have asked the same question...how does the weed killer know what's to be done away with and what should remain. Sheeshh...guess it doesn't!!! Ohhh my goodness...I can't believe that the pesty crab grass was the only thing that remained green! Was so happy to hear that your hubby was able to fix his beautiful lawn...I feel better now! Hehe!

So happy to have you for Sunday Favorites again this week, my faithful friend!!! Have a great week...

Warmest wishes,
Chari @Happy To Design

Oh my goodness! That is too funny. How long did it take him to "green" it up again?

Our neighbor is obsessed (his wife's word) with his lawn. We look soooo bad next to them.

Good thing about grass, it grows right back.

I love working in my yard as well, and my grass is the greenest on the block. I know how Fisherhubby feels.. I will get on my hands and knees and pick out the crabgrass. I use herbicide as well, but what I used work out well.

Thanks for stopping by come back anytime.

I'm having a party every Thursday "get your craft on" and you can show outdoor photos, crafts, or remodels. I would love for you to link up.

Oh! No! My mom always told me the only way to get rid of crab grass is to get on your knees and pull the roots out.

I see you are like me this week and behind on post. Glad I am not the only one.
Hope all is well at your end, friend!
When did you say your trip is scheduled?
