Many of you have asked where in the world I've been.

All I know is that after 7 plus years of blogging and a different lappy, which I don’t like, I seem to have lost my blogging fervor.

Someday, when you least expect it, I will post again.

For those of you still waiting I say thank you.

Meanwhile, I am rather prolific on twitter. Find me: @KeethaB

Billows Roll in My City

.
.

This has been a week for
.

 Clouds billowing on the horizon
.
.

 In our fair city and
.
.
 All over our state.

We had winds and showers one minute
And sunshine the next.

That's about all the excuse it took
For Fisherhubby and me to decide
To eat out on Friday night.

Truth be told - - -
We don't even NEED an excuse.
.
.

 So, between raindrops we
Headed out to El Mezcal,
Our favorite Mexican restaurant.
.
.
 Fisherhubby's favorite dish comes with
Guacamole, which FH doesn't like.

SCORE!!!  I get to eat it all by myself.

Not much I love more than a good guacamole.
.
.
Here is my favorite dish - - -
Jimador Con Pollo.
YUM.

It comes with tortillas, but I just scoop it up with a fork
And pop it in my mouth.

Oh, and it doesn't come with the salsa
slathered all over the top - - -
I pour that on myself.

Truth be told
(That's the second truth to be told in this post)
I pour way MORE salsa than this on top.
.
.
 And here's Fisherhubby's fave - - -
Fajitas Especiales.

It also comes with a side platter of
Arroz, Frejoles, salad, and tortillas.

I lost count of how many times I had to
Snap a picture to get this ONE
Without FH's "California Hello"
Hand signal hovering over it.

That boy I married
Always takes it too far.

Today I'm joining Unknown Mami

Some of you, my oh so loyal bloggy fans, have been sending me texts and emails asking me where I've been because I've been SORELY neglecting my blog and you, my bloggy buddies.

There are two reasons for this:

1)  I've not had the creative energy/juices lately to put the TIME into my blogging that I once did.  I never want to put up a post unless it meets my own standards (eh hem) of bloggy creativity.  And when I neglect my blogging I also neglect my follow list.  Be assured it ISN'T YOU - - - it's me.

2)  I went over to the dark side of Twitter.

I never thought I'd ever have to admit this - - - I've avoided FACEBOOK like the plague all these bloggy years (blogging since 2006 BTW) - - - so I thought I was immune to ALL of the dark side of social media.

Until I signed up for Twitter to check on my sporting news and found oh so much MORE over there to check up on.

Sigh.

So - - - if you wonder if I'm alive or dead, just look on Twitter for @KeethaB.  I think you'll find me.

And never fear - - - I'm alive as alive can be.

In just a little over a week our three precious, darlin' grans will be coming to 'Consin for Kamma Kamp!!!

This is an annual tradition we've started since moving seven and a half hours away from them.

It's all about quality time together and making memories!!!

I'll do my best, mes amis, to take lots of pix to post to my blog while they're here.

Last summer we had DROUGHT in these here parts.

The spots of dead grass you see in our yard are THANK YOU VERY MUCH to last year's drought.

Uh - - - not so much THIS year, at least so far.

The other morning while Fisherhubby was way up in Canada, leaving me home alone to fend for myself, I had to "hide" in our interior laundry room for fear of the fierce winds/rains passing through.

As I hovered there, trying to decide if I should make a dash for the basement or not, I was entertained by my new friend Twitter.

BTW - - - Fisherhubby has had to mow about twice as many times so far this spring as he did ALL SUMMER LONG last year.

Serves him right for leaving me home alone.  That's what I say.

Even the bears 'round these here parts aren't SURE about this Wisconsin weather.

We still had snow a-falling on May 3 and now it's hot and wet like a rain forest.

This bear had to take a look at a thermometer because the crazy weather gave him such "paws."

The other day while I was working at the library a man stopped me and said:

"How do you work like that?  Don't those little tiny shoes hurt your feet?"

Huh???

"Nope," said I, "These little tiny shoes FIT my little tiny feet."

Are size 6's THAT tiny???

Around Father's Day I found these photos of NBA dads with their mini-me's.

Dwyane Wade and son.
.

Chris Paul and son.

They are soooooo cute I can hardly stand it.

You may remember that I have a fixation with Nutcrackers, which I affectionately call my Kings.

Well just LOOK at this King mailbox holder my friend Kay helped me find this week.

No, I do NOT have one here.

Dane, one of the young lads from our church, a distant cousin of mine, and a passenger in my car going to and from Kids Camp snapped this picture with my phone camera on the way home.

I kinda like it, how about you?
.
.
* * * * * * * * * * * *
.

Here are Dane and brother Marcus pictured with me at KFC/Taco Bell at a Sunday lunch after church.  Going to Taco Bell for Sunday lunch is a long tradition in our family.

Notice they have piled all their trash - - - as well as the trash of everyone at the table - - - on my Taco Bell tray. This is ALSO apparently a long time tradition in our family.

My CHILDREN used to do the same to me when we took THEM to Taco Bell for Sunday Lunch, back in the day.

Fisherhubby STILL does it.

I have NEVER liked my try getting piled high with trash - - - especially while I'm STILL EATING.

Evidently it is a tradition that will dog me my entire life.
.

Except when I manage to slip away to Taco Bell for a lunch with just me, myself, and I.

Neither me, myself, nor I are messy with our trash!
.

So, my friends, THIS is how WE can make OUR trash look on OUR tray.

Sigh.

Yes it IS folded.  Deal with it.

So good for the OCD.
.

Marcus, both mentioned and pictured in the above frag, forgot (or so I thought) to bring his parental consent form to Kids Camp where he was a Junior Counselor.

I texted his dad, the Chief of Police in a Small Wisconsin Town, and asked him to write a permission note, snap a pic of it, and text it to me at camp.

In just a few minutes, this is what I got with the following message:

"Official enough for ya?"

Well, Mr. C.O.P., if it is official enough for YOU who am I to argue???  I wouldn't DARE be "resistant" to the police, especially not the C.O.P.!

Where you will see LOTS of other frags.

Why not make a frag post of your own
And let the Frag Times roll over at your place
If you do, be sure to link up!

Kids Camp 2013 - Where This Old Lady Goes Back to Camp

.
.

A week focused on the Wesleyan kids
In Wisconsin.
.
Time well spent in and on the shores of Lake Minnesuing,
Where EVERYBODY (except this old lady)
Swam and played even though - - -
.
The ice had only been off the lake for three weeks.

We THOUGHT this might be snow - - -
But it was only "dry fruit" (seeds attached)
Drifting down through the air and around our feet.
.
There were activities galore,
.
Old friends, and more.
.
I returned one tired gal,
But with some stories to tell.

Why are you sporting that clothes pin accessory,
You may well ask?

Leave your best guess in the comments
And return tomorrow for more camp
Photos in my SIMC post.

Sleeper in My City

.
.
I married a man, Fisherhubby, who can (and often does) fall asleep anyplace at any time in any position.
.

When this man is ready to sleep he does - - -
.

Many times not even bothering to lie down first.
.
.
On rare occasions I find him stretched out full length in what appears to be a comfortable position.
.

.
More often than not, however, he has a propensity for squeezing his bulk into less space than his bulk requires.

This results in feet and head in some pretty awkward sleeping positions.
.

.
If I should try to wake him he mumbles something about being comfortable and stays right where he is.

Which seems to me would result in neck and leg cramps.
.

He has even become quite adept at clutching the remote control in his sleep.
.
Of course there are those moments when he isn't actually asleep, hears my camera clicking, and gives me a cheery "I love you so much" hand salute, which I have edited for the purposes of this "G" rated blog.

Put on Your Fraggin' Shoes and Frag the Night Away

.
.
Come on everybody!!!  Put on your fraggin' shoes and let's frag the night away!!!

You know, frags are those fragments that have been twisting around in your brain and you just need to get them out and share them with someone in blogland.

Well, let them twist no more - - - Mrs. 4444 has given us Friday Fragments for JUST such a time as this.  Why don't you join in?
.

* * * * * * * * * * * *
.
Isn't this just the sweetest picture of our tiny ballerina, Piper?   I was planning to use it in a whole ballet post, but since I haven't gotten that done yet, I think I'll share it with you now.

You're welcome.
.
.

.
.
This is sweet Aunt Mary, my dad's sister.   A few weeks ago she passed away.

She and my dad were two of 13 siblings.  Only five of them are still living.  I don't like this phase of life where the generation before us takes their final bow on this earth.
.
.

.

School's out for the summer!!!!  At least for our grans down in Indiana.

I don't think there's any question about How Mackinley feels about THAT!!!
.

Now there's time for IMPORTANT things like reading books in the shade of a big old oak tree, (don't you LOVE those flip flops?)
.
.

And "watching" big brother play baseball.

Pretty soon it will be time to come to 'Consin for Kamma Kamp!!!"
.
.

"Tweet Treats"
.

I've started tweeting, @KeethaB.  I'm discovering unexpected blessings and surprises from Twitter!

Today the gal on the right, who is a client of our stylist daughter Korie on the left, tweeted me this picture while she was getting her hair done by Korie!

.

My former students in Indiana who are growing up and graduating have found me on Twitter.    These three were in my Freshman Biology class the last year I taught, the last our school was open.
.

When our school closed, the students were scattered to 4 different county schools.  Last week they all met back at good old LCS to have their picture taken together one last time.

Such bitter sweet memories.

I am so proud of all of them, and so glad they tweeted out these photos.
.
.
* * * * * * * * * * * *
.
And LAUGH while you do it - - - that's what I say.

Hehehehehe.

Sorry - - - just couldn't help myself.
.

.
"Memorial Day Fun"
.

As already reported on this blog, I spent MUCH of my Memorial Day weekend sick, even ending up in the ER Saturday evening.

By Monday morning, I had "pulled myself together" enough to meet Claudia, one of my high school classmates who was in town from Iowa.

One of the joys of coming back home is being here to meet up with old friends like this when they pass through.
.
.
Monday evening we grilled and ate steaks with our friends Bill and Eloise (yep, pronounced E-Lois)

Eloise had made a very festive red, white, and blue Memorial Day table.

A great time was had by all.
.
.
* * * * * * * * * * * *
   .
I'm getting excited about Badger Football season - - - which starts the first weekend in September.

BUT, I'm trying not to get TOO excited yet 'cause I don't want to wish away the whole summer!!!
.
.* * * * * * * * * * * *
.

Perhaps the government would be better - - - they rarely "let" themselves get arrested.
.

* * * * * * * * * * * *
.
.

.

And that's all the fraggin' I'm doing today,
Even WITH my fraggin shoes on.
Please hurry over to Mrs. 4444's place
Where you will see LOTS of other frags

Why not put on  your own fraggin' shoes
And frag the night away?!
.
.
