Many of you have asked where in the world I've been.

All I know is that after 7 plus years of blogging and a different lappy, which I don’t like, I seem to have lost my blogging fervor.

Someday, when you least expect it, I will post again.

For those of you still waiting I say thank you.

Meanwhile, I am rather prolific on twitter. Find me: @KeethaB

Piper Renae's Dedication

.Arriving at the church

Waiting on grown-ups is hard work!!

Uh, yah - - - I'm pretty sure our family took up three rows!!!

"And Jesus took the little children in his arms - - -

And blessed them."

Piper Renae inspects her surroundings

Piper and her cousin Blake
Packin' in the pews!

Two proud grandmas.
These grandkids are LUCKY to have us!!! ;-)

Fashion Statements

.What ALL the fashionable grans are wearing these days. Especially note Kaeleigh's combo.

Close-up of Kaeleigh's boots.

Korie, Kaeleigh, and Buckley sporting lots of pink and feathers.

Kissing Buckley

Kaeleigh gets a wet doggy kiss.

Be Careful Where You Fall Asleep (AKA The Trying Times of a Music Diva)

Somebody fell asleep this afternoon right in the midst of all of us. Our noise and activity didn't seem to phase his (her?) sleep at all, so - - -

We decided to have a little fun. First we draped a pink boa across his chest. No response whatsoever from him.

Next we readjusted the boa and gave him a tiara and lovely pink microphone. Still deep in his own little unaware world.

Next we adjusted the tiara to a better angle and put the microphone up to his mouth - - -"all the better to hear you with, my dear." Still zero response from him.

Isn't he the cutest little music diva you've ever seen?

But alas, when Korie tried to paint lip gloss on his pale little lips - - - he awoke with a start, not exactly sure where he was or what he was doing.

I should think after all the naps he's gotten when the rest of us didn't get one this is what he deserves!!!!

This News Just In - - -

SHE says it was a joke,
and it was

The Cry of Agony That Was Heard 'Round The World

Wisconsin 25 - Michigan 27

And that after Wisconsin was ahead 19 - 0 at half.

My cousin Willie, FROM MICHIGAN, came by and watched part of the game with me.

I don't know if he'll ever come back after that or not!!!

Taking a 12 Hour Blogging Break - - -

To indulge in my OTHER passion - - -

Watching NCAA football!!!

Stay tuned for updates - - -

Whether you are interested or not.

Nope, can't break from blogging - - - too much football to talk about!!!!! Check out these news scoops:

Unranked Ole Miss beat (4) FL IN THE SWAMP - - - 31 - 30!!!!

And this is what the Gator fans looked like after that!

Unranked Maryland beat (20) Clemson AT DEATH VALLEY - - - 20 - 17. I must admit, I'm not too surprised about this one, in fact it was one of my "picks" this week. I've seen the Terps do this to the Tigers before.

At half my Badgers are beating Michigan 19 - 0 IN THE BIG HOUSE. However, this game so far has been a comedy of errors ON BOTH SIDES.

Purdue and Notre Dame playing in the Golden Dome are tied at 14 at the half.

Unranked Navy is beating (16) Wake Forest at Wake 17 - 0 at the half.

Hang on kids - - - the ride isn't over yet for today!!!

Are You Seeing This???

(AP photo/Don Ryan)

USC vs Oregon State 0 - 21 at the half!!!!

This is why I LOVE NCAA football.

And now I have to go to bed - - - -

What score will I find in the morning?

In the morning: USC 21 - Oregon State 27!!!!
What a game!!!
I seem to remember this happened two years ago too.
Number one USC was toppled by the unranked Beavers

This is FUN STUFF, kids!!!

Did He or Didn't He - - - You Decide

Our son Kelly - - - you simply cannot get ahead of him mentally. You simply cannot outsmart him.

This is the kid who when he was three wrote a sign "Rocks for sale 5c" (Only it was a cent sign which I can't find on my keyboard) and stuck it in a bucket of plain old limestone gravel. When I saw what he was doing I said, "You can't sell those pieces of gravel." He replied "Uh huh!!" and held out his little fist to show me three nickels!!!!!

That's Kelly.

(My word, he was only THREE - - - I should have KNOWN we were in for a LONG ride.)

Well - - - he went to Vegas last weekend with his girlfriend and this picture is what he put on his Facebook when they returned:

Now the question is: Is it real or an elaborate hoax????? You know - - - live or Memorex?

We all LOVE Cathy. We all would LOVE this to be real.

So - - - is it simply a joke, a hoax to get our hopes all up and then dash them to shreds with a big "Gotcha," or - - - -

Is the joke that it is actually REAL and he wants us to all THINK it's a joke so he can say "gotcha" when we don't believe it.

It's a joke - - - one way or the other - - - but which way???????

Vote Real or Hoax in the comments.

And as soon as we figure out the truth, I'll let you know!!!

They've Got Class - - -

Just a little glimpse of my Anatomy students working in class today - - -

Well, MOST of them were working, but I can't promise anything about these!

This one puts on a real good front, doesn't he? At least when he's not talking about his LSU Tigers.

Can't you see the concentration? Might just be an act for my camera!

Wearing a vacation momento hoodie always helps.

Oh, by the way, this class meets FIRST thing in the morning - - - they'd rather still be sleeping!!

And this one reminds me of a prairie dog popping out of his burrow.

Unpleasant life circumstances have crowded into my nice little peaceful world and made me ANGRY.

I need a little Wisconsin-therapy to make me feel better. I'll share it with you.

Take a big, deep, virtual breath - - -

And soak in the aroma of sun drenched pines.

Let the quiet, peace, and solitude of standing vicariously on the shore - - -

Permeate your very soul.

Then let out that deep virtual breath - - - - Ahhhhhhhh

I feel better - - - how about you?

Whatever Happened to Nursery Rhymes?

While I was working on my "Fair" post, the words to the following nursery rhyme kept running through my head:

Simple Simon met a pieman going to the fair;
Said Simple Simon to the pieman "Let me taste your ware"
Said the pieman to Simple Simon "Show me first your penny"
Said Simple Simon to the pieman "Sir, I have not any!"

We cut our teeth on these things. I LOVED them - - - shoot, I still do!!!

But I doubt if kids today would even recognize one line of any of them. What happened?

Another sad loss, I say!

Goin' to the Fair

Last night Kamma and Papoo came over to take me to Street Fair.

First I had to put on my walkin' shoes.

Look Papoo!!! I wanna ride THAT!

Don't forget about me!!! I wanna go to the fair too!

Checkin' out food row.

Papoo got a shish-ka-bob, mommy got some fried veggies. What did Haley and I get???? NADA!

After hours and hours of WAITING while adults talked, I FINALLY got my ride on the horsie that goes up and down. They even FORGOT to get me my own corn dog and I had to eat their left-overs. How abused can a guy get?

Hey, what are YOU complaining about, brother??? I didn't get fed a single thing and all they let me do was WATCH you ride!!!

At last - - - on the way home - - - they bought me cotton candy. But LOOK, Papoo's got more.

OK, I'll Play

I may be too late for my predictions to "count" this week - - - but hey, it's football, I'LL PLAY!!!

Week of 9/21/08 - NFL Predictions
(My predicted winners are in Cobalt Blue, which IS COLT'S blue btw!!)

My results will be in THIS color
Added after-the-fact.

Cardinals (17) @ Redskins (24) L
Panthers (10) @ Vikings (20) L
Texans (12) @ Titans (31) L
Dolphins (38) @ Patriots (13) L

Oh sure, Dolphins, choose NOW to come to life!!!
Right when I started playing BFL
And was sure you would be trounced by the Pats.
Love that the Pats lost - - - -
Just wish I would have seen it coming!!

Raiders (23) @ Bills (24) W

FINALLY - - - I predicted a win!!!

Bengals (23) @ Giants (26) W

Go Eli!!!
At least ONE Manning pulled out a win.

Chiefs (14) @ Falcons (38) W

I'm so proud of you, Matt Ryan!!!
I LOVED you at BC
Hope you have a GREAT NFL career!!

Buccaneers (27) @ Bears (24) L
Rams (13) @ Seahawks (37) W

Saints (32) @ Broncos (34) W
Steelers (6) @ Eagles (15) L
Browns (10) @ Ravens (28) W
Jaguars (23) @ Colts (21) L

OK boys - - - you are going to HAVE to learn
How to keep the other team from controlling
The ball for the ENTIRE GAME
If you plan to win - - - -
Otherwise, this will be a really long
And really painful
Season for me - - -
Your number one fan!

Cowboys (27) @ Packers (16)

Packers, what happened!?!

Monday Night
Jets (28) @ Chargers (49)
Combined score: 41 (77)

I'm 6 W - 10 L
I'd better stick to teaching science
And leave football predictions
To the pundits
And to those who are
Just naturally LUCKY!!!

Sky Watch Friday With a Twist

(Backside of Ike over Marion)

Gray skies are gonna clear up,

Put on a happy face;

Brush off the clouds and cheer up,

Put on a happy face.

Pick out a pleasant outlook,
Stick out that noble chin;

Wipe off that "full of doubt" look,
Slap on a happy grin!

And spread sunshine all over the place,
Just put on a happy face!

(Lyrics by Tony Bennett)
