Many of you have asked where in the world I've been.

All I know is that after 7 plus years of blogging and a different lappy, which I don’t like, I seem to have lost my blogging fervor.

Someday, when you least expect it, I will post again.

For those of you still waiting I say thank you.

Meanwhile, I am rather prolific on twitter. Find me: @KeethaB

McMillan Library in My City

.
.
The Library
It isn't just for books any more.
.

Come on over to McMillan library,
Let's open the door to see what we can see.
.
.
We have a commons bright and clean
Where you can read a paper or a magazine.

There's movies, audiobooks, CDs,
TV series, and two rows of PCs.

Have a Kindle or a Kindle App?
We've got e-books you can read on that.
.
.
Come on over to our coffee shop.
You'll get a hot cup of java at this stop.

You'll find muffins, cookies, pizza too
Hot chocolate, pretzels, and more for you.
.
.
Then mosey on over to our AV shelves
To find something to entertain yourselves.
.
.
And if you don't see what your bell will ring,
We can put a hold on just about anything.
.
.
Need to have a meeting, a gathering, a chat?
We've got just the right room for that!

To get ready you won't need to do a deed,
We'll set it all up just the way that you need.

And in case you're worried there'll be a steep fee,
This is the LIBRARY, we do it for free!

.
We even have a theater where bright stars perform
And comfortable seats where you'll be nice and warm.
.
.
Now follow me please as we make our way,
Up the stairs past this area that we call our display.

In the display you may see a frog or a rose
A bird, a mouse, or a fossil, I suppose.
.
Then onward and upward we shall go
Till we reach the adult "pony show."

Oh this library is such a busy place,
With computers and people in every space.
.
And if you want books, we have them galore,
Old books and new books from ceiling to floor.

Would you like to read a great mystery
Or does your heart yearn for history?

We've got action, thrillers, and graphic novels too.
You'll find westerns, large print, and books of "how do."
.
.
And in case there's some hard cover our library lacks,
We've got lots of "rounds" full of paper backs.
.
.
We even have PEOPLE, and help you they can,
Like this lovely lady, the smiling Miss Pam.
.
.
We have this bright section just for your teen,
With poetry to prose and all in between.
.
.
And last but not least is our children's place,
Which is sure to bring a smile to any face.
.
.
We have rows of round tables just the right size
To bring a bright glow to any child's eyes.

You'll find puzzles, games, puppets,
Picture books, videos, and muppets.
.
.
And if that's not enough to boggle the brain,
We even have an area for this toy train.
.
.
So come to our library, bring the whole family,
We'll do our best to entertain thee.

And after you've explored each and every floor.
Looked through each window and around every door,
.
I think when you've seen all that we have in store,
You'll realize the library "ain't" just for bookworms "no more".

Sometimes I Just Get SOOOO Riled UP

.
And this is one of those times.

WARNING:  This post is about one of my pet peeves and will feature me standing up tall on my soapbox.  Continue at your own risk, we do NOT provide lifeguards!

I made this post way back in 2006 when I first started blogging.  Today another blogger mentioned hearing a similar "critique" of blogging.

I say, the internet is NOT a narrow one way path and hobby bloggers (like moi) are NOT choking the road for the others - - - so leave us alone and let us hobby, k?

And without further ado I rerun:

"No One Cares What You Ate For Lunch"
First posted on 12/05/06

Is, I believe, the title of a book written by a woman I heard being interviewed on NPR the other morning. The purpose of the book was to instruct people on how to make an interesting blog.

It sounded to me that she thought talking about food was boring.
.
.

I disagree. I enjoy TALKING about,
.

READING about,
.

And SEEING photos of food on blogs.
.

I think Miss "NPRauthor-interviewee" used her blog as an online department store of unusual goods and services.

I think THAT is boring!

.
.

I guess my little nonpoint here is this - - - - the blogs I like are the ones where people share random things from their real lives, things like visits to pumpkin patches, chocolate desserts, children and their antics, fun quotes, frog princes, pies in the face, football, name the baby contests, choose the Christmas picture contests,Pig Latin essays, and funny anecdotes. I really don't want to spend my free time perusing someone's sales pitch.

And - - - - - for all who are wondering, and even for those who are not, I had leftovers for lunch.

Well just lookey here!

It appears I am not the ONLY Colts fan
Submerged in a vast sea of green and yellow
That makes up the Packer Nation of Wisconsin.

Cory, seen here at the library,
was a good sport and let me take his picture
To share with y'all.

Yes, I DID walk right up to a total stranger
And ask if I could take his photo.

That's just the way I roll
Just for YOU  my bloggy friends.

Looking back on good times past - - -
At our 40th high school reunion.

I appear to be "entertaining" the group.
Some can take me in stride
While others can only shake their heads.

Story of my life.
.

I blogged about this reunion before - - -
.
.

But I just received these photos today
Which were taken by someone else
So they show me in the mix.
.
.

I thought I'd share them in spite
Of the fact that they are a rerun of sorts.

Deal with it, k?

Our youngest daughter, Korie,
Has these old crib springs
Hanging on her kitchen wall
Not too far from her refrigerator.
Note the two vintage aprons
Hanging on the left side.
.

I have this ladder,
standing beside my refrigerator,
And note the two vintage aprons,
Hanging on the left side.

Nope - - - neither of us knew the other
Was putting apron decor by the fridge,
Nor that the aprons would
Hang on the left side.

More proof that those genetic
Apples fall right under the tree.

Not sure Korie wants to be like her mama,
But in some ways she most certainly is!

Her mama is happy and proud,
Korie may or may not be.

Last "bright" frag of the day,
And the most "beautiful" of all - - -

You might just be a redneck if:
.

You pose for your picture
Saying, "Get 'R Done"
AFTER you lost your front crown.
Goodness, this man would fit right in
On the front row at a Willie Nelson concert!!!!

Now please hurry over

To see all the other

Homes on Lake Nepco in My City

.

On the southern edge of our fair city there is a "pine encrusted" lake called Nepco.
.
.
Its shores are dotted in strategic places with lovely old lake homes.

Some may call these cottages, but oh my word, many of them are HUGE homes.

(Disclaimer - this photo is all wonky because I "straightened" it using a program I'm not an expert in using which resulted in a border that is crooked, sort of like the house that Jack built.  Again, you KNOW who you are dealing with over here.)
.

I love how they peek out from their piney woods.
.

Some of them barely peek at all.
.
.
This one had a previous life as a sleeper car.
I'm totally fascinated with it.
Too bad it is so well camouflaged in its pine grove.
.
.
This place is a home,
A water park,
And a party house all in one.
.
.
I noticed that at Nepco
It is all the rage to
Have a boathouse.

By boathouse I do of course
Mean a "garage" right on the water
For the boat.
.
And the boathouse must double as a party house.
.
And the party house must have both
Upper and Lower seating.
.
.
Even the pump house must sport an upper deck
And be festooned with flowers.

Sadly, I have never been invited to partake
Of riparian festivities
In such a place as this.

I think I must splash in a mud puddle,
Paddle up a down river,
Or
Swim on the wrong side of the bridge.

Gonna Frag Around the Clock Tonight - - -

.
OK, so I'll admit it right up front - - - my Frag title is false advertising.

I barely have enough frags this week to make a respectable appearance, much less frag around the clock.

BUT - - - catchy titles are hard to come by.
.

I have been very pleasantly surprised and pleased about the colorful Autumn we've had.  After a summer of severe drought I thought we'd only have rusts and browns.

This particular tree fascinated me because it turned fire red-orange in sections with summer green in between.

Most of our gorgeous leaves are now crunching underfoot - - - but I enjoyed the splendour (British spelling on purpose) thoroughly.

Don't you think splendour is way better than splendor???  Splendor is just mundane compared to splendour.

Meet Dane.   He is a little cousin of mine who is quite the character.

Sunday after church he came up and hovered beside me announcing that he was going with me for the afternoon 'cause he was bored at home.

That must be SOME KIND OF boring to prefer the company of an "older than dirt fossil" like me, but there you have it.

I took him to Lunch.
.
.
Our friends Bill and Eloise also joined us.

Then Dane laid on the love seat and played "Angry Birds", "Ant Smasher", and "Bad Piggies" on my Galaxy Tab.

I am nothing if not the cure for boredom.
.

BIL Joe and Sister Pam did some exploring in the Everglades last Saturday.  Sister Pam must be taking the picture so you can't see her in it.

I'm just surprised that BIL Joe didn't wear his HIGH HEELS for the occasion.

No need to get all defensive for him about the high heels remark, he knows why I said it and he has richly earned it by telling me "My Boys" play football in their girly shoes.
.

I'm proud of these two - - - daughter Keri and her hubby Jason.

Uh, I'm pretty sure you can SEE that Jason is a policeman.  Well he was recently presented with the Indiana Coalition Against Domestic Violence’s “Law Enforcement Officer of the Year” Award.

Seriously - - - he got the award out of all the officers in Indiana!!!

Jason, I am soooooo proud of you.

This is my friend, from way back in childhood friend, Mary who has a home cleaning business.

Friend.

Has a home cleaning business.

I have a home.

A Home which DESPERATELY needs to be cleaned.

Match made in Heaven!!!  Oh yes I DID hire her to come in and clean every two weeks.

Today while she was cleaning I began hearing music, a catchy little tune, coming from somewhere on the dining room table.

"There's music coming from my dining room table!"  Says I.

"Oh yah," says Mary's daughter Sarah who helps with the cleaning, "I have a little piano man in my purse."

"You do???"  queried I.  "You have a piano man in your purse???"

(Yes mes amies, I thought a piano man was some kind of little electronic gadget or other.)
.
.

"Yep," says Sarah, "A piano man!"   and she pulls out her cell phone.

Fisherhubby, sitting on the couch watching his fishing shows of course, LOVED that.  Sarah caught me in my gullibleness without even trying!

What can I say?  You KNOW who you're dealing with over here, right???
.

Well friends and bloggy fans, I surely do wish I had ten or fifteen funny tales to weave here at the end of my fraggy post.

Alack and Alas, I'm fresh out of excitement in my life so you'll have to settle for ho hum mundane.

Maybe NEXT week I'll pull out all the stops.
