Many of you have asked where in the world I've been.

All I know is that after 7 plus years of blogging and a different lappy, which I don’t like, I seem to have lost my blogging fervor.

Someday, when you least expect it, I will post again.

For those of you still waiting I say thank you.

Meanwhile, I am rather prolific on twitter. Find me: @KeethaB

Rising Like a Phoenix From the Frag-Ashes

.
.
I have been in absentia from blogland for over a week due to circumstances beyond my control - namely recovering from the overhaul and rearrangement of my inner workings.

Aside - why is it that a young whippersnapper doctor who looks about 12 has the audacity to tell an oldie goldie like me that since it is ONLY outpatient surgery you will be right back on your feet the day after???   Hmmmmm???  What in the world was SHE thinkin???

Howsomuchever, I  am RISING like a Phoenix from the frag-ashes of my sickbed just in the nick of time to join Mrs. 4444 (oh I KNOW she says to pronounce it "fours" but I just can't do it, to me she will always be Mrs. 4, 4, 4, 4!) for her wunnerful Friday Frag party.

I surely do hope you ALL missed me last week while I was groveling in my own ashes.

Well folks, she did it again!  And by she I mean my MIL Robin and her gift-giving gift.

Wednesday I was lower than the underbelly of an anaconda just wishing my throat would stop hurting for even one moment when THIS appeared on my front stoop.
.

Everyone needs some chocolate band-aids for the lacerations of life, no?
.

If I can't survive with the help of all this, I'm quite hopeless.

Thank you, Robin!  You are better than a personal life coach!

We're planning a trip to Indiana soon to see our kids and our grans - - - only we'll miss these two, Korie and her hubby Chris.

Korie is a marathon runner and had she been in Boston last week it is highly likely she would have been coming across the finish line right about at the "fateful hour."

I am one grateful momma that she wasn't there.

I am also a momma grieving for the mothers and their families who were not as fortunate as I.

We will however see these two while we are in Indiana.  This is our oldest son, Kelly and his calm sensible wife, Cathy.

Kelly needs calm and sensible - - - trust me on this.

Remember, he's the one who skied right off a cliff a few short weeks ago.

This is brotherly and sisterly love at its finest.

Not sure what our grans were watching here, but their momma said this is what they did and how they got along all afternoon that day.

Precious.

Even if I DO say so myself.

It is brat fry season in Central Wisconsin.   That is pronounced Br-ahhh-t and not like a mean unruly child.

We are from staunch hardy German and Scandahoovian stock 'round these here parts and we do love our sausages.   We care not how many calories nor how many fat grams they contain.

To us they ARE health food.  We eat them for our health.

All we care about is their succulent deliciousness.  This one was embellished with Swiss cheese, mustard, and dill pickle relish.

YUM.

It was my first brat of the season but it shall NOT be my last.

This little angel is about to be in her first full ballet EVER.  She will be a little "bad fairy" in Sleeping Beauty.

Here she and her mommy were practicing getting her stage make up just right.

For a modest investment you too can receive refrigerator art masterpieces.  Just click over to Keri's blog and place your order.  ;-)

Does refrigerator art give a whole new connotation to the phrase "starving artist" I wonder?

Fisherhubby's been at it again.

He found this ecard on Pinterest or something, posted it on Facebook and said it was for me.

(No, I do NOT like to answer my phone, thank you very much.)

Our friend Shawn saw it and gave the original version a little "facelift" so to speak.

I was singing in case you wondered.

Our Indiana friends, Mark and Annette, are arriving here this evening to spend the weekend.

We have ulterior motives for inviting them - - - we want them to MOVE here near us.

We don't ask for much.

Perhaps one day I shall say more about that.

And that's all the frag-ash rising I'm capable of for tonight.
 .
.

.

.
Please hurry over to Mrs. 4444's place
Where you will see LOTS of other frag-ashes
AND where you can do some rising of your own,
Should you so choose.

So glad you are back. I know I haven't been following you for very long, but I sure missed you while you were gone.

Hoping you will be completely recovered before too much longer. Of course, with that gift box of chocolates, etc; that should make the recovery easier.

Take care and have a great weekend.

Hope you are feeling better. Love the survival kit. Have a great weekend.

Glad that you are backed ... been missing you.

That ecard could be SO me!! I don't like to answer (or make) phone calls. Period.

Of course I missed you! MIL Robin is a jewel with a gift for gifting! What a fun package! I need to know more about "brat fry season". We eat and enjoy brats, but is a brat fry like a fish fry? A community type event? Miss Piper is going to be the prettiest bad fairy there is! The ecard with your face added is the funniest thing! Hilarious! And I'm with you...that ringing phone just makes me cringe. :) Glad you are back in the land of blogging!

So glad you are feeling better!!! Missed you! Is that Get Well Survival Kit the greatest!? I wish I could think of stuff like that.

So thankful your daughter was NOT in that race....my heart hurts for all who were and their families. A young couple from here was in the race.....I only know that because they raced by us every morning as we walked. I finally yelled "are you crazy?" because they were dressed very lightly while we were bundled up against the cold. One day, they called back.....we're training for the Boston Marathon. I was so relieved when I heard everyone from here was safe! Even though I didn't know their names, I was praying for them during that day.

Your grands! They are too precious! and that e card? Too cute!!!

Yes everyone needs chocolate bandaids to make things right.

I'm sorry it took so long but I'm glad you're feeling better.

Your whole post made me lol, especially the picture of you with the phone. I hate answering the phone too. Cell phones make it so much easier to screen phone calls.

BTW have I mentioned that you have a very pretty family. I know fisherhubby tries to hide it under fisher-gear and a mustache but it's there. ha ha

The Boston thing, so senseless and sad. I can't imagine that although the people who were there and unharmed, came away emotionally unscathed.

Have a happy weekend, Keetha.

Ooh, I forgot to talk about the sausage. NOt a huge sausage fan (even though I have some German and English in there) I'm guessing I get my tastes for wine, bread, cheese and of course corn from my other parts.

I have been thinking of you and so thankful you are feeling some better. Doctors do not always know everything either. There are times when we are in the wrong place a the wrong time, but thankful your family was there at the right time. Take care my friend.

You have been missed in these parts called fraglandia. One good thing about getting parts taken out and re-arranged is the possibility that one may lose weight from the loss of said organ(s). I am very glad that your daughter didn't suffer injury or worse in Boston. Thank God.

That get well box would make getting better so much more fun! Glad you are feeling better and so good to see you back with your Frags!

hugs, Linda

Your MIL is awesome! What a cool and thoughtful get well/survival kit! Hope you're on the mend faster than the whippersnapper doc even said. ;)

I'm SO glad your daughter wasn't at the marathon this year - that whole thing is just so sad.

I was giggling over the fact that your son Kelly *needs* a 'calm and sensible' wife. ;)

Now that's some precious brother and sisterly love right there! :)

I'm glad to know you're not actually cooking up unruly children... ;)

I'm now giggling over the doctoring of that funny e-card!!

Have fun with your friends this weekend! :)

Are you kidding me?! I had my whole comment typed out and Google went ahead and threw it out. UGH.

Here I go again...

AHEM! CORRECTION!! Your eldest offspring found that cartoon and posted it to Dad's Facebook informing him to make sure you saw it! I love what your friend did to it...made me laugh out loud!! And FYI...I have gone ahead and shared it with your remaining offspring (on Facebook) just in case they miss it here. WINK!

That goody box looks amazing. Maybe I'll tell Robin I'm "sick" so I can get one too?!?! Oh I do kid...I'm glad SOMEONE sent you one because I was feeling guilty that I didn't!

For the record, I ABHOR putting makeup on my sweet little girl's innocent precious beautiful face.

good to know you are feeling better. Nice survival kit.
I also enjoy brat season.

Oh, it always seems that these "routine procedures" are only routine if they are NOT happening to us. :o) Glad you are on the mend.

Love all the fragments, what cute pics of the Grans.

Enjoy your company and don't over do it! Happy weekend!

so ... how is the throat? Will you be singing? Have a great weekend!

I'm glad your on the mend! That Get Well Survival Kit is THE CUTEST thing! And your MIL sending it to you? Really, so sweet! Your little ballerina is adorable; I have a little ballerina and I need to figure out HOW to get her hair into a bun before recital!

Glad to see you back in the land of the living, so to speak!

I don't answer my phone either and I am terrible about checking my voicemail!

The stage make up thing freaks me out. I hated that part of dance. Luckily, the girl didn't really take to it.

My ex husband used to send me Cheryl & Co cookies. It's actually how I found out about his...ummm..other significant other. :-) There was a charge for cookies I didn't get. Wonder if she knows he was not original in his gift giving :-)

That is one AWESOME survival kit!

I am so glad you are on the mend! I do not find these young doctors humorous at all.In fact I think they are a bit mean:)
I have been missing FF too because the A-Z Challenge is just that challenging and I'm up to my forehead in revisions.
Hoping to release a few good fragments next week:)
I hope you continue to feel better, I'll be praying for you!
