Many of you have asked where in the world I've been.

All I know is that after 7 plus years of blogging and a different lappy, which I don’t like, I seem to have lost my blogging fervor.

Someday, when you least expect it, I will post again.

For those of you still waiting I say thank you.

Meanwhile, I am rather prolific on twitter. Find me: @KeethaB

Wherein I Reveal My Most Secret Inner Workings

.

I had an e-mail this morning from my kindred spirit friend, Betsy, asking me that all important question - - -

"Keetha, what are you doing with your time now that football season is over????"

Vital question since we ALL know that I spend copious amounts of time during football season doing a lot of this.

And as if just WATCHING football isn't enough, I've got that whole self-created, self-"commished" College Football Pick 'Em game that I orchestrate each week of the college season - as manifest by my "bookie book" beside my elbow.

Which does bring up ONE very important fact - - - for me it's all about COLLEGE football, so MY season has been over since January 10th when the National Title game was won by the Auburn Tigers, or are they War Eagles??? (If you can answer THAT question you are a sports genius.)

I was sooooo glad Betsy asked - - - as I was groveling around in the DIRT trying to come up with a blog post for today and her question INSPIRED ME!!!

So, without further ado, here's what KEETHA does without College football - - - - get a box of kleenex ready, it's pretty pitiful.

1) Well we WERE xc-skiing, but the shocking HEAT WAVE we've been experiencing (temperatures between 35 and 50) has knocked us out of that - - - can't ski on ice crystals from melting and refreezing snow - - - not to mention by the end of the week we shall PROBABLY be snowless.

2) So - - - I'm spending more time on my computer blogging and e-mailing.

3) I'm spending time in very constructive worry over the Birkebeiner which REQUIRES snow. It is SUPPOSED to take place next weekend in Hayward and THEY are even warmer and shall be even MORE snowless by then than we are here. And we all know HOW VERY PRODUCTIVE worry is - - -

4) I'm cooking and cleaning and "redding" up the kitchen. (Redd - - - that's a good Indiana word)

5) Laundry consumes at least a few hours each week.

6) I continue to teach my KIDD's class of 4th -6th graders at church on Wednesday evenings.

7) I watch sports shows on TV - - -where I saw some soccer "dude" (Can't think of his name right now, but it started with an "R" and I think it MIGHT have been Wayne Rooney) making a bicycle kick goal in the soccer "whatever" that is currently in progress. (If the World Cup is only once every four years, what in tarnation are they having NOW?)

And while this most certainly IS a picture of Wayne Rooney, it most certainly IS NOT of a bicycle kick, but just a plain old ordinary soccer kick.

8) Fishserhubby and I watch some taped crime solving shows in the evenings, because we have sooooo many crimes to solve in our real lives.

9) And last but CERTAINLY not least - - - I make up and blog about silly lists.

And oh my dear bloggy buddies - - - I WOULD watch and rewatch DVRed games of the Badgers beating the Buckeyes and the Wolverines - - - if only I HAD DVRed those games - - - but the games I DVRed were casualties of our recent move, so I am totally destitute and football cheerless.

And THAT is when you will find yourself needing those kleenex to wipe your leaking eyes.

I have no words of support or good cheer for you. I haven't ever experienced the ending of any given sports season in that manner. Maybe you could take up making a lot of those fleece blankies and give them to your friends for next football season...? Re-do a room in your new place and make it the Red Room...?
No?

I will share no thoughts on either your team or my team...but I totally know what it is to redd up the place...yup, I do it too.

They ARE the Auburn Tigers and they YELL War Eagle. Now I ask you, does that make ANY sense? No. It does not. And I feel no joy over their national championship even though they are in my state. I don't tell just anybody that so *shhh* secret's between you and me.

Now of course, you have the Crimson Tide who yell ROLL TIDE! Isn't that sports poetry? Truly beautiful.

Just think, we are now in the second month of the year 2011 which means college football season starts in 7 months.

You are BY FAR a bigger football fan than I am. I just love that about you!

We are in the same boat, so to speak! When there is NO football, I watch whatever sport is on... EVEN Golf. I watch the races, Daytona 500 is this weekend and I'll watch that too!

Baseball is the next Sport and it last a LONG time! Yippppeeeee!

Have a blessed evening, HUGS!

"Redd up" -- oh my, haven't heard that since we lived in Pittsburgh. This native New Yorker needed a translation book for some of the phrases there.

Cute tusch on the soccer player. Thanks.

Oh the pain, and the tragedy...I am crying for you as I type. What ARE you to do with yourself now?

You are so funny. I echo CRY's question..... I have tried and tried for my husband's sake to care about football but it just holds no appeal. ( don't hate me please)Hunting, fishing, and baseball, yes, love em'.Do you enjoy baseball and fishing shows too?

Having never heard of the Birkebeiner, I followed your link and spent a little time reading up. Cool event! Don't worry your little head over the weather; their trail report of the day was very upbeat. Good forecast after tomorrow too.

Hi Keetha,

How surprised we were to see a pic of our very own Wayne Rooney on your blog - or, as Jasper calls him "a potato in a football kit"! He plays for Manchester United as well as for the England national team, and although a good footballer he is certainly NOT the sharpest stick in the woodpile...!

Keep smiling Keetha - every day at the end of the season is one dar nearer to the start of the NEXT season - YAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAYYYYYYYY!!!

Go Badgers!! You look good in those pics, by the way - Jasper is very jealous of your nice blanket!

It is hard the first year after retirement. I loved people, I loved my work and missed my private time while driving to work. I nerly lost my mind the first year. I cleaned my house the cleanest it has ever been and probably ever will be again. Now, I have no regrets looking back and would not go back to work ever again. I enjoy doing nothing if I want to. You are one that can handle any situation very well. You are doing just fine.

This past week NASCAR season started. We drove by Daytona Beach on Sunday and I have to tell you that my heart started thumping faster. So for race fans, our season has just begun :) ((I have to admit, I haven't watched the races in the past few years! After my race driver retired I had a hard time finding a new driver))

So I know what you mean - the months off are difficult, but with blogging buddies and friends, you just might make it :) LOL

I love all my blogging buddies... and they all live in the same place, right here inside my computer.

Lists? Oh, my leaking eyes. The tears make the ink run and I can't read them.

Your house is in the hat for next location for the gnome. Stay tuned for drawing to come.

Well, I'm excited pitchers and catchers have reported. But apparently my team (the Yankees) are fat...exceeding pleasantly plump by, oh, 50 pounds each or so.

It's gonna be a lonnnnnng season again.
