Many of you have asked where in the world I've been.

All I know is that after 7 plus years of blogging and a different lappy, which I don’t like, I seem to have lost my blogging fervor.

Someday, when you least expect it, I will post again.

For those of you still waiting I say thank you.

Meanwhile, I am rather prolific on twitter. Find me: @KeethaB

Limburger Legacy

.

I like Limburger cheese on crackers. I like it a lot.

The stories that you've heard about the tell tale aroma which emanates from a hunk of Limburger cheese are all true. It will give you a nostril full. Rather reminiscent of a used baby diaper left too long in a closed up car in the middle of July.

Though Fisherhubby CLAIMS to be a cheese head, a fan of STINKY cheese he is NOT. He can't even tolerate the smell of Parmesan and blue causes him to "spew."

This next bit will seem like an unrelated fact - - - but hang on, it will all tie in.

I am NOT a fan of practical jokes. I don't like them pulled on me and I don't pull them on others. They seem to have more than a 90% chance of causing suffering. Since I don't volunteer to suffer, I try not to inflict it upon others.

OK - - - back to the Limburger saga.

The last time Fisherhubby and I went to the cheese factory, I purchased a nice block of Limburger cheese.

Fisherhubby SAW me buy it.

When we got home, I TOLD Fisherhubby that I was putting it in an empty dip container and CLEARLY marking the lid so he wouldn't accidentally open it.

Fisherhubby HEARD me say this - - - though I now have strong resason to suspect he did not LISTEN to me say this.

A few nights later when Fisherhubby returned from work at a little after midnight and I was already snoozing away peacefully in my little trundle bed, he went to the refrigerator to scrounge around for a snack.

Seeing a container of his FAVORITE chip dip - - -

Well, you know what's coming, don't you????

I was asleep in bed - - - I know not what effect that aroma had upon his sensitive little systems.

But I DO know, that totally unintended by me, I DID manage to give him just a little "get even-ness" for ALL the tricks he pulls on me.

And now, if you'll excuse me - - - I think I'll go have a lovely little lunch of limburger and Triscuits.

Oh Keetha that is so funny! My Dad loved Limburger cheese and we would all leave the room when he would eat it. Strong smell is an under statment!

I do not think I have ever smelled it. But, I have always heard it was horrid! Funny story! I'd be scared if I was you.

My kind of people, oh cheeseheads!
Keetha, I adore limburger cheese too, and my husband doesn't. How strange people are not to adore the taste (ha ha). In Wisconsin it is probably easy to find it to buy, but sometimes stores here have it and sometimes they don't.
I am offering a free upbeat book on downsizing to a simpler life to one commenter on my blog; come on over.

I LOVE Limburger cheese!!! It is very hard to find here, but when I do find it, I have to buy some. Yes it is quite stinky, but it is oh so good. My family won't eat it, but at least they don't complain when I do. :-) And that leaves more for me...

I love Limburger!!! I've loved it since I was a child! Rye bread is my base of choice...or pumpernickel...sliced onion and mustard is great on it. ...learned that from my grandparents.

My hubby, on the other hand, once bannned it from our home and I would have to go to my mom's to have some.

I haven't had it for so long...okay, hubby or not - I'm going after some this weekend!

Oh Keetha, that made me giggle! I am always putting things in empty tubs and writing on the top! I agree with Fisherhubby on not liking to eat stinky cheese, can't do it! Enjoy your cheese and crackers!

Enjoy your evening my friend! HUGS!

Haha! That's funny! Poor Fisherhubby... At least you clawed backa bit of 'passive revenge' - and it can ONLY be HIS fault - because we all know that men don't listen properly (no offence boys) when they're being given sensible information.

I LOVE cheese, in most forms (blue or otherwise) but I have never tasted Limburger (here, Jasper is nudging me and saying "Quick! Tell Miss Keetha that we thought that Limburger was the first man to fly solo across the Atlantic!!" but I told him that I would not besmirch the name of such an heroic man...)!

Good to see the dashing young 'un in his cheese-helmet again. If it reassures him, the cheese on his head seems to be of the mild, North European variety, such as Gouda or Leerdammer - very safe for those with sensitive tummies!

love to you,
Ruth xx (and Le Grand Fromage d'Angleterre, Jasper x)

Hew,hee, hee. I'm not a big believer in karma, but there's always, "What goes around, comes around."

My MIL tells a story about her prankster grandma send her home on the bus with limberger cheese stuck into the toe of her pull on boots. It apparently caused some green gilled co-travelers.

OMG I CAN SMELL IT NOW JUST THINKING ABOUT IT.... Poor fisherhubby lol...

I see that you found a very funny something to blog about!! Oh, that was quite the practical non joke on him. We all know that had he listened, he wouldn't have been caught in that predicament. ;)

Haha. I think the best practical jokes are the unintentional ones! Poor fisherhubby. As being one with a sensitive nose and a smell-based stomach, I definitely feel for him.
