Many of you have asked where in the world I've been.

All I know is that after 7 plus years of blogging and a different lappy, which I don’t like, I seem to have lost my blogging fervor.

Someday, when you least expect it, I will post again.

For those of you still waiting I say thank you.

Meanwhile, I am rather prolific on twitter. Find me: @KeethaB

Thrifters, Antiquers, Decorators and Rednesdayers All - - - You Won't Want to Miss This Visit With Eloise!!!

.

Meet my friend Eloise (Pronounced E-Lois)

Sunday following church Eloise noticed I was there alone, Fisherhubby being at work, and invited me over for lunch.

When I stepped into her home, I was immediately so engrossed in looking with WONDER at all her "stuff" that I must confess I completely neglected helping her get lunch on the table!

She is such a sweetie she loved me anyway.

Her home is filled to the brim with antiques, collectibles, and various other unique items.

Come along with me on a tour - - - you'll be soooo glad you did.

Close up detail of the beam which crosses the dining room ceiling.

The beam itself was salvaged from a tobacco drying barn. She has adorned it with baskets, stars, and twinkling party lights.

I rather liked this flat wooden village nestled atop door jambs.

This wall in her kitchen is festooned with many vintage kitchen gadgets.

And presided over by a stately row of bundt and other cake pans. Her husband, Bill, told me she started out by buying ONE vintage egg beater.

Everywhere she has vignettes to capture the heart and the imagination.

My eyes barely knew where to look next!

Miniature winter wonderland atop a music box on the dining room table.

Red picnic basket style tin lunch box, tin salt and pepper, and another egg beater

Charlie Brown's Christmas tree blended in happily with the rest.

Hubby Bill built this rustic hutch to house, year around, PART of her village pieces.

I couldn't tell which I liked best - - - her collectibles or the furniture pieces which housed them!!

I told her if she ever happened to tire of her treasures she had ONLY to put a "shoppe" sign on her door - - -

For the displays are already set!

She is the "queen" of using items made for one purpose to serve another. Here a propane camp stove serves as a cabinet - - -

An antique tricycle holds a collectible clown - - -

A child's wooden ironing board doubles as a plant stand - - -

A spinning wheel fills a corner - - -

And a wooden sled makes a delightful coffee table.

Thanks Eloise for opening your home and your heart to me and my bloggy friends!

I believe there is something RED in every single picture, so I am linking this post to Rednesday over at "It's a Very Cherry World."

Your friend has given me some new inspiration for displaying my stuff. E-Olise is quite the collector. I especially liked the red metal box and the ironing board used for plants. You certainly had a lot to enjoy.

And Honey...don't get me started about this education issue....spend 24 years in the financial end....soooo much wasted money....they should start with the salaries at the very top....!!!...and keep the classrooms staffed....!!!

Enjoy

Keetha, your friend is just marvelous. Unique in her name and her "Stash". Wow what a visit, thank you for taking me along. That is what is nice about blogging, I would never have met her if not for meeting you. Of course being a miniaturist I liked her hubbys hutch the best but oh so much more to behold.

She's right, it all starts with that 'one egg beater'! I really enjoy vintage kitchen utensils.
That was fun!
I also liked the picture with the violin hanging on the wall. Never thought of displaying my MIL's antique violin that way.

My word, your friend has more things than an antique mall. Never saw so many great vintage pieces. Her kitchen wall blows my mind. I would have dearly loved being with you on this outing. Thanks so much for the grand tour of this lovely home.

Lots to love and lots to see there, for sure. I especially liked her kindness in noticing you were at church alone, and inviting you over for lunch. Entertaining angels, unaware. LOL

Second best I liked the doll collection. Very pretty.

Oh my friend, you've been talking to me today! My Mother's name was Eloise...but pronounced El o weese.
I have never heard it pronounced the other way. She did have a lot of neat things. Love the sled as coffee table.

Now, on to the last post. What a beautiful homage to winter! It is so clear that you love it. I think that is wonderful. God's glorious world has beauty all year long, doesn't it? I am guilty of saying that I was wishing itwould hurry and get spring time. And, it is really not that I don't like the winter, you know. In fact, I think my fav piece of nature is a bare tree against a blue sky. The reason I hope it passes quick is the fact that I feel so bad in the wonter. I have arthritis and fibromyalgia, along with another auto immune disease similar to Lupus. The cold makes me hurt so much more than usual. But,even so, I love it when we have to 'hunker down' mild though it may be in other areas, and stay inside for a few days.
Thanks for reminding me that God sends what we NEED in this life...not just what we WANT.

I absolutely love that hutch she displays her village pieces on! Wow! What a neat idea! I love the whole house, really. I just wouldn't want to clean and dust it! Lol!

Her home gives me such a cozy and warm feeling! And she's got a real knack for displaying all of her treasures too. Now Keetha, next time you go over there, you grab that red picnic basket for me, ok?! Or if you're not ok with outright steeling, ask her if you can borrow it, and then send it to me!
Happy REDnesday!
