Many of you have asked where in the world I've been.

All I know is that after 7 plus years of blogging and a different lappy, which I don’t like, I seem to have lost my blogging fervor.

Someday, when you least expect it, I will post again.

For those of you still waiting I say thank you.

Meanwhile, I am rather prolific on twitter. Find me: @KeethaB

Sunday Rerun - She was WRONG!!

.

I get sooooo excited about our bloggy Sunday reruns!!! Thanks so much to Chari over at Happy to Design for hosting Sunday Favorites.

This week I have jazzed my rerun up a bit by adding some photos - - - very important photos- - - which I offer as my EVIDENCE that the "she" in my post was all wrong!

"No One Cares What You Ate For Lunch"
First posted on 12/05/06

Is, I believe, the title of a book written by a woman I heard being interviewed on NPR the other morning. The purpose of the book was to instruct people on how to make an interesting blog.

It sounded to me that she thought talking about food was boring.

I disagree. I enjoy TALKING about,

READING about,

And SEEING photos of food on blogs.

I think Miss "NPRauthor-interviewee" used her blog as an online department store of unusual goods and services. I think THAT is boring!

I guess my little nonpoint here is this - - - - the blogs I like are the ones where people share random things from their real lives, things like visits to pumpkin patches, chocolate desserts, children and their antics, fun quotes, frog princes, pies in the face, football, name the baby contests, choose the Christmas picture contests,Pig Latin essays, and funny anecdotes. I really don't want to spend my free time perusing someone's sales pitch.

And - - - - - for all who are wondering, and even for those who are not, I had leftovers for lunch.

Hi Keetha! The food looks really appetizing. But I have to lose weight. I think I gained 10 lbs from my vacation. Ugh!...Christine

I think I gained 10 lbs. looking at the pics! Plus now my keyboard has drool on it! I agree, I like diversity in a blog and all that I follow have that...

Amen sista!!! I too love reading about people's everyday normal life. I love when real life is hilarious. And I didn't even eat lunch today.

Keetha, I totally took a picture or five for you on our vacation of the FOOD. Can't wait to write about it!

You make me laugh and you are making me hungry and I just finished dinner. I'm glad to hear you like random posts, because lately that seems like all I'm capable of. L.O.L.

I don't mind if blogs are a sales pitch, or if they only talk about food, or cats, or dogs...I just don't have to read them LOL

I'm with you, I like the real life people who just sit down and chat. :)

I agree with your post and you can always share what you had for lunch with me. I made the mistake of buying Doritos yesterday and I have to say that the bag was my lunch today. I just don't understand why I can't lose weight!

Don't hold back, Keetha! Tell us how you feel! Hehehe

I agree with you! I love reading about people's lives and lunch is definitely a part of it. (What kind of leftovers did you have?)

There are so many creative bloggers (like yourself) that do a fantastic job of sharing their day-to-day lives, and I enjoy reading their blogs!

I love all of the type of posts you mentioned, also. And I do care what you had for lunch!!! Sally

We all gotta eat. I too prefer the mix of everyday life in a blog. I haven't posted many food posts recently because quite frankly I forget to take pictures. Food and recipe photography is not as easy as one would think is it.

You're right. I think food is the best thing in the world to talk about! I found a recipe on a blog and made it. My husband loved it. It made me happy to make him happy! Anyway, the way you present ideas on your blog is great. I wish I was that creative. The garden sex thing was funny.

Keetha... I'm with you... and of course... as evidenced by my own readers on Friday... People were more interested in the photo of Ricky's fried porkchops, okra and tomatoes than any other photo in the random life post... of course almost everybody loves food... right! oh... and by the way... thanks for reminding me that I haven't eaten yet... logging off and heading to the kitchen! Have a wonderful week!

Hope they were good leftovers. We brought snacks to a BBQ yesterday, and I took pictures of them before we left the house -- my family isn't surprised by this anymore.
I DO like knowing tidbits, too!

And if you can direct m e to someone who has Pig Latin essays, I will ank-thay you most nicely.

GHOST CAT? I have enough problems with a REAL cat who hangs out in our yard and loves to rile up Dion.

Oh man ... I hope that cat doesn't find its way to NJ to live with our ghosts... although in the winter when I begin to obsess about mice moving in, I might like the idea of a cat with its own "famliar."

Spooky!
Cass

Wonderful food photos. I just have to say that what makes one blog interesting, may make another boring. Afterall, it's in the minds of the readers isn't it. I love blogs about food, they bring us all together, Char

nancygrayce said...

Well, of course food is interesting! If not, we'd all be skinny little things and who wants that??? I mean, I do, but I also want to eat. We ate lots on vacation.....but we also had to walk down and up 3 flights of stairs everytime we went in or out. So I'm hopeful that no weight was gained at least.

Oh, and I speak fluent Pig Latin....it's how we kept our parents from knowing what we were saying as kids and now it's how I talk around the grandkids to keep them from knowing! They try, but they just can't keep up!

Tonja said...

Food is interesting...but, I don't write too much about it because I do not like to cook. And, I do not cook any more than I just have to. But, I love reading about it...if it has ingredients that I know and understand.

Anyway...I like the blogs I read to be real...real people talking about real things and doing real things. Just regular folks that I can recognize!

Whoa! That salad looks great! I'm like you; if I want services, I'll find them myself, thank you. I wanna hear the dirt.

I'm with you. I love all kinds of posts, from decorating ideas to food. No sales pitches, however.

Your blog is definitely not boring... it's mouthwatering. And there's all that sex in the garden to spice it up even more!

Carol said...

Well, you know that I liked your pictures of food!

Ok, your post just made me hungry!

I love blogs that talk about real life also-and I LOVE your blog!

I am bummed right now though, cause I know I don't have anything near as appetizing in my fridge as the pics you posted!
