Many of you have asked where in the world I've been.

All I know is that after 7 plus years of blogging and a different lappy, which I don’t like, I seem to have lost my blogging fervor.

Someday, when you least expect it, I will post again.

For those of you still waiting I say thank you.

Meanwhile, I am rather prolific on twitter. Find me: @KeethaB

Friday's Favorite Family Foto - A Rerun of Sorts

.

This fun Friday Meme is sponsored by
Deborah over at Pictures, Pots, Pens.

Today I am reposting something I
Posted in March on the Thrifty Thursday Meme
Because it really fits better here,
And because I don't have anything
New ready to run at this moment.

This is my favorite
Portrait that was ever taken
Of any of my babies.

Notice, I did NOT say
This is my favorite child.
I have FOUR favorite children.

But this is the cutest
Portrait that was ever
Captured of any of them
When they were in their
Baby phase.

This is Kelly.
He is our oldest son
And is now 28.

The stories I could tell.
Oh I think I will
Share just a few:

When he was this size,
He loved to have
"pecial" time with his mommy.
That included stories
And songs - - - while the
Other children napped.

One day when he was
About three, I found him
Trying to sell the gravel
Out of our driveway
For 5 cents per rock.

I told him no one wanted
To buy our gravel.
He said,
"Uh huh, Mommy!"
And opened up his chubby
Little paw in which
Were three dirty nickels.

When he was in Grade School
He once took his little sister,
Korie, by the hand
Door to door telling people:
"Our grandma died
And we don't have any food
To eat."

I still had to LIVE
In that neighborhood after that!

He still to this day
Delights in picking on his mama.
One of the reasons I
Don't grocery shop
Is because he takes
Every opportunity to
Tear the labels off the
Canned goods on my
Pantry shelves.

OK - - - so that has nothing
To do with why I don't shop - - -

Now he's all grown up,
And is the manager of
A thriving Pizza Hut
In Fort Wayne.

One day he shall have a son of his own,
And his son will be
JUST LIKE HIM.

His little nephew, Mackinley,
Already is!!!

What a cutie pie! I can see why that is a favorite portrait. These stories are hilarious. He was certainly innovative as a child. ♥

*snort* Oh my word! I laughed out loud! That's some kid you have there! (Good thing he was cute...)

Keetha Broyles said...

Love those snorts!

And he's STILL a handful - - - only now I don't have to be the one dealing with it on a daily basis. :-)

Sounds like yor 28 yr old is related to my 29 yr old...lol...I always tell him if he ever has kids I hope they are just like him, cause that will be my revenge...
Thanks for sharing that little cutie with us.

I remember my daughter selling rocks from the playground to the other kids in her 4th grade class. Except she sold them for a quarter a rock, so that she could get ice cream money. I was so embarrassed when I found out. (But she got lots of ice cream that year.)
The kids only volunteer on certain days--2 days a week for hippotheraphy and 2 days for nature.

I thought it was just a myth about people taking the labels off of canned goods. Goodness!

You're right - that's a great picture!

Hi Keetha, your photo is so adorable for sure. Your story about your son is terrific. I can tell he is a 'PECIAL' son and I know you wish him a son just like him. That is a grandparents fondest wish. BIG smile.

Hugs...Jeanne

You chose your words very well and I'm sure all you kids understand about "favorites", or we hope they do, right? Beautiful picture, thanks for sharing.

I WOULD HAVE BOUGHT A BUCKET FULL FROM HIM!
I THINK ANYONE READING THIS SHOULD STOP NEXT TIME YOU SEE SOME LITTLE KIDS HAVING A LEMONAIDE SALE
EVEN IF WE DONT WANT TO DRINK IT OR DO IT MAKES THEIR DAY AND TEACHES THEM ABOUT WORK AND WHAT THEY GET OUT OF IT!
MY LITTLE GIRL ALWAYS TELLS ME SHE IS TO YOUNG TO GET A JOB WHICH IS TRUE SO I FIND JOBS FOR HER AT HOME AND SHE ENJOYS WORKING FOR MONEY ON HER OWN.

haha. Oh Kelly! Maybe you got payback for being a handful for your parents?

Keetha Broyles said...

Anonymous, I'm sure I was NEVER a handful for MY parents!!!!

Hehehehehehehehehe

Anonymous, I think it is ABOUT time that you let me know who you are - - - the ONLY one having fun with this little anonymous joke is YOU - - - I would have MUCH MORE FUN, knowing exactly who you are!!! ;-)

Oh, your son is so cute and I love the stories about him when he was small. You would think he'd grow up to be a businessman. We have something in common. My oldest child, my son Jed is also a Pizza Hut manager in New Port Richey....Christine

Trish said...

Oh, KeeTha...That boy is adorable and what a character!!! Since you don't like to shop, do you find yourself at Pizza Hut a lot? LOL

Keetha Broyles said...

Xinex - - - I think he IS a salesman being a Pizza Hut Manager. Maybe our sons will meet one day at a Pizza Hut convention and become fast friends. ;-)

Trish - - - you are so cute with teh "T" in my name. Actually, Kelly's Pizza Hut is over an hour away and we rarely get there. The on in THIS town isn'tn the "right" franchise. (There are two - - - Brown roof and Red roof - - - we are of the Brown roof variety.)

Oh, he has the MOST angelic look on his face...and then I read your stories! Ha! He must have been very fun to raise! I love a kid with a sense of humor! The door to door begging thing must have been hysterical...but not to you!

Oh, he is absolutely adorable! And, what a wonderful little charachter he was! I sure hope he has retained that personality into adulthood. What a hoot to spend time with someone so full of life and devilment! I laughed out loud, yes even snorted!

Many hugs..........

Diane

Angela said...

Awwww! He looks like a little angel in that picture but you and I both know what it is like to live with little boys! lol

I sure hope he didn't do what I just found out that my 5 yr old just did to his door. He actually took the door knob off the door with a screw driver that he must have snagged from his daddy when he wasn't looking! You should have seen the cute smile my husband had on his face when I told him this story tonight. Boys!!!!! hehehe

Hugs,
Angela

I love it -- going door to door and saying Grandma died and there's no food.

And cans with no labels. Well, now, that's a challenge.

And he is extremely cute.

That's a wonderful story! I wish I had thought of selling the gravel in the driveway when I was little!

Happy Family Foto Friday!

I read this post on Friday, but didn't have time to leave a comment. The story about going door to door made me laugh out loud several times that day (and snort too!).

And to think he looks so cute and innocent in that picture!

Looks can be soooooo deceiving, can't they?
