A few years ago when Fisherhubby's grandma moved to her permanent home in Heaven, each of her grandchildren, including the in-laws like me, had the privilege of choosing one of her small treasures to keep as a memory of her.
I chose two small, delicate, dainty cups and saucers. They feel right at home in my antique cabinet with all my OTHER vintage tea thingies.
Fishserhubby chose this. It is a decorated empty egg shell. It reminds me of the egg with feet cartoon strip character who was afraid to hatch the rest of the way. (Who remembers what that egg's name was and which cartoon strip he was in?)
The stand is a small, metal, chicken claw egg cup.
I couldn't believe this was hubby's choice. Evidently he had always loved looking at it as a child, so it holds special memories for him.
It doesn't exactly "blend" with the fancy tea cups, but they all seem to be getting along quite well in the cabinet.
These two pictures are just to show size. The tea cup in the background of each picture is standard size.
