Many of you have asked where in the world I've been.

All I know is that after 7 plus years of blogging and a different lappy, which I don’t like, I seem to have lost my blogging fervor.

Someday, when you least expect it, I will post again.

For those of you still waiting I say thank you.

Meanwhile, I am rather prolific on twitter. Find me: @KeethaB

Not QUITE a Thrifty Vintage Thingie This Thursday

.
It's THAT time again!!!!
Vintage Thingies Thursday over at Coloradolady and Thrifty Thursday at Bloggeritaville.

Be sure you click on both of the icons or links above to check out what everyone else is posting.

My post today is about a thrifty vintage thingie wannabe.

It is neither a vintage thingie, nor was it a particularly thrifty buy. BUT - - - I hope it WILL be vintage one day, and since Fisherhubby gave it to me, it is priceless, so WHATEVER he paid for it WAS thrifty.

One Sunday a few years ago we stopped at the Christmas Open House at our friend's florist shoppe.

That's WHERE I saw it.

That's WHEN I fell in love with it.

And that's WHY I hinted quite openly to Fisherhubby that I would like it for Christmas.

Even Fisherhubbies can take hints if they are broad enough (the hints, not the fisherhubbies, though some fisherhubbies ARE rather broad, but that would be the subject of ANOTHER meme, don't'cha think?) - - - and the tapestry was mine for Christmas.

There is just something about the setting that draws me in.

We hung it in our living room, which I affectionately call "the music room" since Fisherhubby keeps his guitar and trumpet there - - - and even occasionally, when not fishing, plays them.

Mackinley and Piper turn into musicians when they hang out in our music room.

Mackinley is already exhibiting great musical prowess at his tender age, and I give all the credit to - - -

My thrifty vintage thingie wannabe tapestry!!!

You must be a VERY good hint dropper. :-) Mine usually involve a hammer, and hitting one over the head with it (metaphorically speaking ;-).

Inspiration comes from unexpected places. Mackinley appears to have the director gene.

That tapestry is gorgeous, and definitely destined to be a vintage thingie of the future! Thirty years from now we're going to see it again, right here on VTT!

The tapestry is beautiful. It is good to know HOW to give hints to people around you, daughters take much smaller hints than their fathers.

What a pretty tapestry and the kiddies are so cute!

It's okay. Someday that beautiful tapestry will be vintage. Heck, I don't think we have any vintage police for our blogs, do we? Do what ya want! :) I decided I should start following you...not in a creepy way though.
Thanks for sharing!
Living it up at Lakewood,

The tapestry's very pretty, Keetha. No wonder you fell in love with it and how sweet of your hubb to give it to you for X'mas..Christine

The tapestry is breathtaking.....your husband takes hints well! I hinted that I wanted diamond earrings for my birthday, hinted as in I specified every living thing about what I wanted......did I get them??? NOOOO....although I really knew that was way too extravagant.

The grands are as cute as ever!

I'm a good hinter too. "Honey. My birthday is coming. I want an I-Pod just like yours. For my birthday. Next month. An I-Pod - same model you have. For my BIRTHDAY in November which is coming up SOON."

Yeah.

I do like that tapestry. We too have a music room (4 guitars, paino, drums, various percussion instruments, stereo, microphone, etc.) The walls, they are blank except for a guitar chord poster. A tapestry like yours would be an excellent addition!

Hi Keetha,
I've been rushed off my feet this week and am just getting round to seeing what my friends have been up to.I can well understand that feeling when something speaks to you, you just gotta have it. It's a very pretty tapestry and it's speaking to your grandbabies too, how lovely. Lucky you.

Keetha,
You are right, the match holder was in the shape of a bellows, I neglected to correct myself, thanks!
