Many of you have asked where in the world I've been.

All I know is that after 7 plus years of blogging and a different lappy, which I don’t like, I seem to have lost my blogging fervor.

Someday, when you least expect it, I will post again.

For those of you still waiting I say thank you.

Meanwhile, I am rather prolific on twitter. Find me: @KeethaB

Children's Festival in My City

One day a year our high school gymnasium is converted into a Children's Festival site.

Today (Saturday) was that day.

Area businesses, schools, and churches set up booths all over the gym.

I took these photos just before the crowds descended.

This was the booth sponsored by our church - - - children could make egg crate caterpillars and sign up to win a handmade quilt.

Most booths offered a game or a craft for children. This green frog face is what kids could make at the library booth.

There was even a desert oasis - - - of sorts.

Once the festival was open for business, the crowds began to descend - - -

And the children got busy crafting their crafts and playing their games.

All kinds of interesting "folk" put in an appearance. Oscar the grouch in his shiny can,

A fairy, a princess, and some kind of imaginary insect creature to name just a few.

Don't forget your veggies and fruit!

I believe a fun day was had by all - - - I only saw a tear or two when crafts didn't "cooperate" with little hands.

That looks like so much fun! I work at a back to school event in a low income community and we hold a celebration where they pick up back packs and get eye exams and other medical/dental services but we don't have enough craft activities. Love the crafts!!

Now that looks like a great way to spend your day. I love watching little kids experiment with craft. I especially love when my kids get to do craft in a place where I won't have to clean up all the gluey mess!

Your Sunday posts are such fun to look forward to. There's always something interesting. The Children's Festival looks like so much fun. We have a fete of sorts here once a year and look forward to it eagerly. :-) Happy Sunday, Keetha!

Is that the Hungry Caterpillar from the Eric Carle books? The festival looks like it was huge success.

Not only does it look fun, but it looks like it didn't cost a lot of money, just time, patience and love.

Love Oscar the Grouch - looks like fun was being had by all!

I got a kick out of your comment about the big eyes. Those were by Margaret Keane - another San Franciscan.

Catching up on your blog after being away. I like both specimen a and b ... And no fooling, the only professional concert I've been to is Peter, Paul, and Mary. So many years ago. So you asked if you could harmonize with him and he said no?

We are also having winter weather again. It's hard to put on the heat now that the summer clothes are out, coz, after all. It was summer. Could be this is an early fall? said...

You live in such a spirited town. I love this, especially Oscar.

Be well, Keetha.

Thanks so much Keetha for inviting Dan and I over after dinner!
Even with busy little Addi along you still opened your home so graciously!
Can't wait to drive up and see those antique stores too!
Oh, and thanks to Greg as well!

I might have to talk with my church about doing something like this. We always have a Fall Festival (the kids all dress in their Halloween costumes) in our large church gym. The kids love it and hate that it comes only once a year. Saw your picture at Cindy's Applestone Cottage. Sounds like ya'll had a nice visit together and that Addison enjoyed her day too.
