Many of you have asked where in the world I've been.

All I know is that after 7 plus years of blogging and a different lappy, which I don’t like, I seem to have lost my blogging fervor.

Someday, when you least expect it, I will post again.

For those of you still waiting I say thank you.

Meanwhile, I am rather prolific on twitter. Find me: @KeethaB

Sunday Reruns - Wisconsin Northwoods

.

It's Sunday again, and you know what THAT means!?! It's time for Sunday Favorites!!!

Sunday Favorites are RERUNS, not current posts - - - if you want to participate, just repost something you previously posted "back in the day."

Thanks so much to Chari over at Happy to Design for hosting this meme, "Sunday Favorites." You may click on the link to find the rules and see more favorite posts.

I have been reposting favorites in order from the beginning of my blogging experience back in June of 2006 and moving toward "now." I have reached our Wisconsin vacation posts from the summer of 2008. Since we have just recently moved to Wisconsin I have decided to repost some of those posts that honor and highlight my beloved Badger State.

This is the SIXTH of those reposts, and takes you on a little tour of our favorite corner of the Wisconsin Northwoods.

There will be at least one more Wisconsin rerun.

You Know You're in the Northwoods When - - -
(first posted on July 23, 2008)

In order to travel from point "A" to point "B" you drive through a lot of this - - -

And then some of this - - -

And finish off the trip with some of this!!!

You see plenty of these, paper birches.

The lakes are natural and look like this.

McDonalds and - - -

Subway, and LOTS of other places are made of logs!!

You see trucks like this rolling through town multiple times every day - - -

All those logs in all those buildings have to come from SOMEWHERE ya know!!! And also - - - all that paper you use has to come from somewhere too!! NOT TO WORRY - - - trees are renewable.

The water towers still look like this.

You run across displays like this, and see these chairs in nearly every yard.

And LAST BUT NOT LEAST - - - you KNOW you're in the Northwoods when you can find THESE for sale!!!!

:-)

We've got a lot of drives like that in Florida - but you can see palm fronds sticking out lol I don't see any palm fronds in these photos!

I miss birch trees. They are just so beautiful.

Love this post ... and the teacup post! The teacup might not have a pedigree ... but it sure has form and a cute design ... love the handle! Thanks for stopping by my site ... and for sharing a little of the North Woods. Been there ... but it has been too long! Need a return trip.

I'm back for a little more wit! When I was a kid, our little town had a welcome sign tha said "Welcome to Murphysboro ... The City with the Forward Look" ... right behind the sign was an outdoor toilet! That was in the 1960s ... and almost everybody had plumbing by then! Not too forward looking, huh?

Sunshine! I saw sunshine. Now that is something to look forward to. I love those chairs and have a set called a tete a tete that is two of those chairs joined together with a table in between. I painted them black a couple years ago and they really look great with a nice cushion on them. Hard for me with my short little legs to get out of them though. Bring my a cool drink would you please?

Yep, that's what it looks like here, too. I love those long straight highways in Wisconsin. When we drive across 29 to Minneapolis it's like you can set the cruise control and read a book. Oops, there's Stanley, oops there's Chippewa Falls. You do have to turn some corners in Chippewa Falls, though.

There are lots of lumber trucks where I live, too. I once read a story where a woman's family was killed when they were driving by one of those lumber trucks and all the logs fell on their car.
Even though the story was fiction, I still hold my breath when one goes by me heading the other way.
What shoppertunities you have!

Wisconsin looks beautiful. I guess it probably makes ya want to stay home like me in our beautiful state - right down to those log trucks! Love the outhouses though!

Speaking from experience, including experience in mid-winter, those outhouses are too good-looking to be authentic.

Ohhh...I sooo want to go and see Wisconsin! I have never been and would love to see it! Yes...when I think of Wisonsin...I think of woods! I love it! There really isn't anything prettier than big ol' trees everywhere! The lakes just look so gorgeous too...like crystal! Okay...I have to admit...I have never seen a McDonalds done in logs...that really is awesome! Keetha, I'm so glad that you have been sharing your Wisconsin vacation with us for the Sunday Favorites repost party...I have really enjoyed all the beautiful scenery and experiences! I'm going to be a little sad that you only have one more post to share with us...boohoo!
