I've been celebrating my birthday in my city.
This was one of those terrible, horrible, no good, very bad birthdays.
You know the kind - - - the ones where the first digit of your age gets bigger.
You are forced to graduate into a new decade.
Not a better decade either.
My first digit is now larger than 5.
Sigh.
.
.
I decided if I must move into a new decade of old age, the LEAST I could do was prolong the celebration.
U.P. Annie helped with this - - - in fact I rather think she was the originator of the month long birthday celebration. Anyway, she sent me random e-cards all month long. It was awesome.
Next, my FIL and MIL Robin sent me a lovely birthday check.
Money is ALWAYS an appreciated gift!!! I went shopping with that money and even still have some of it keeping my pocket book warm.
Then our oldest daughter sent me an e-gift card for DeBrand. DeBrand is ONLY the very best chocolate on the planet.
I am doling it out to myself very slowly in order to savor every single bite.
.
.
Today was the apex of my celebrations - - - the big birthday bash itself.
Our friends Bill and Eloise (pronounced E - Lois) went with us to Stevens Point. First we shopped, I did most of the shopping - - -
.
.
Eloise gave me birthday treasures like this stinkin' cute snowman boots and britches coffee mug.
.
.
Then we ate.
NO birthday bash is complete without delectable food.
I had shrimp tacos from Chili's.
.
.
Fisherhubby had Chicken California flatbread.
In Wisconsin no less.
He hates avocados, so I got to eat all of his.
SCORE!!
.
.
And this is my birthday shopping haul.
.
.
Which ever shall I wear first????
I don't have any idea - - - but I've only got a few hours to decide 'cause I'm definitely wearing ONE of them to church in the morning.
.
.
It is, of course, a Fisherhubby funny.
.
.
The man bought himself two remote control helicopters for Christmas.
Two.
I guess one wasn't enough.
Anyway - - - he's been working hard to train himself to fly them.
This more often than not results in collisions with the ceiling and other household objects - - - INCLUDING my forehead a while ago. OUCH.
But I digressed.
The collisions with the ceiling are knocking off tiny bits of styrofoam texture, which are transported all over the house via the air vents.
This makes for extra dusting work for our wonderful cleaning fairies. So just look what they left posted near the ceiling over the helipad:
.
.
Never a dull moment around here!!
.
Today I'm joining Unknown Mami

Looks like a wonderful birthday! Happy birthday to you. My grandmother used to tell me "You either have birthdays or you don't. So celebrate that you do!"
:-)

Happy Birthday to you! It's wonderful to see you back...even if it is only part-time. I'm relieved to hear nothing was wrong and that life is well.
There's nothing wrong with taking a break. I've been blogging since 2001 and I've taken several breaks over the years. Sometimes you just need to not have to do it.
Happy Birthday! 60 is NOT old! I made it that far in July. Don't stay away too long....we miss you and your great sense of humor.
I celebrated my 50th birthday for a whole month. It was wonderful. My last 2 birthdays have been on a cruise ship. This year will just be one at home and probably only one day.
Happy Birthday! You don't look a day over 29 :)
Happy belated birthday. I just do not keep up with them as I should. I definitely would have honored you in some way.You spent your money well. Miss seeing you around.
Dear Prodigal, welcome back. We applaud your bravado in celebrating your new decade in style. I have missed your presence in these parts. Football season is not the same without you.
Happy Birthday and welcome to the '6' decade! It's not all that bad and you seem to have started it with a bang!! Hugs!! Linda
Gefeliciteerd met je verjaardag! I think that's more shopping than I do in a year!
Happy, Happy Birthday!
Happy birthday! I added a new digit to the front of my age last year. Chocolate does help.
Happy, happy birthday. Despite flipping to a new decade it sure looks like you had a grand time celebrating.
ANd high five on the chocolate. In my book, it helps EVERYTHING!
Happy SIMC, jj
Well welcome to this side of life. You appear to be making the most of it. A belated happy birthday!
Happy Birthday!!!! :) What a great way to celebrate. I had to laugh. The hubbie here also has those helicopters in various sizes. When his parents asked what he wanted last Christmas? a BIG one! yep, I still can't believe they bought it. They are great though outdoors once the spring weather starts that doesn't accompany rain, or wind or kids. :)
HAPPY BIRTHDAY....Great post, love the chocolate, and all the rest...
I love Italian Beef Sandwiches at Bills Pizza in the Point....That was my favorite hang out after games when I was in HS at PJ Jacobs....I have the recipe and make it on special occasions here in High Point...See can't get away from Point, no matter which state I live in....
Love from NC
Happy Birthday!! I think the helicopters sound like fun!
Happy birthday Keetha! Perhaps the helicopters can bring warmer temps and more W wins for you. Age is a relative thing. You are young at heart.
Good morning, buddy! Thanks for the Helicopter update. At least he isn't boring holes in the floor and ice fishing at home....
What a guy!
Happy Birthday, Keetha! Your little sign to the pilots cracks me up. My boys got helicopters for Christmas a few years ago and they were seeing who could blow the most dust off light fixtures. I finally grounded all flights till I could wipe things down. Lol!
