So, when I saw a bumper sticker that said this, I wondered what other people besides me visualized.
I mean, how many ways are there to throw peas around the place????
Then a horrible thought struck me, could this have some deep, dark, hidden meaning that I really have no business even contemplating????
I decided to come home and google, just to be sure, before I made some silly post about throwing peas and why was pitching peas all the rage these days. Why is lobbing peas enough of a rage to warrant a bumper sticker?
When I googled, I found this.
Now I really was confused. What in the WORLD do violins have to do with tossing peas??? Do people try to toss the peas in the resonance chamber of the violin through that tiny little hole???
I went about my business and suddenly - - - like a flash - - - it all came to me.
I say suddenly, but it was, after all, quite a while AFTER my initial sighting of whirled peas.
Please, don't throw tomatoes at me.

Now you got me a wondering..because it is early and I am not a good puzzle person.
Care to share your thoughts that came to you?
p.s. if you get a chance come by and read my post.
OK I got it, but not after I googled it and it was like seeing a picture that has something in it and you have to look for awhile before it becomes clear. I guess there also is a band by that name. Good mental exercise for early in the morning!
Where have you northern or is it north western people been??? That sayings been around foreva! :) Cute!
Youth in Asia is also a problem. I spent a whole day once trying to figure out what was wrong with Asian kids that someone would research and suddenly...it came to me. Sometimes you just need to talk about the issue!
Yep, this is an oldie. But I hadn't heard the Youth in Asia before, Dawn!
I am shaking my head. Nobody educated in Wisconsin takes that long to get it, but it makes an interesting post.
Are you really a literal person? No wonder FH has so much fun yanking your chain!
I apologize in advance. HeHee!
I don't get it.
OH DUH. I get it now. HA! Like mother like daughter. :)
OK...It's mornin'...I'm an Ozarkian...I'm blonde...
Although I love to play with words...I DON'T GET IT!!!
'Guess I'll follow the crowd and Google it too, 'cause this will bug me all day. I'm twisted like that.
God bless ya and have a fun day playin' with our minds!!! Heeehehehhee!!!!
Duh...don't think I would of connected the two.
Nope, on 'maters here!!! :o)
Gilda Radner's character on Saturday Night Live used to use these lines when she did the "News" as Rosanne Rosanadana back when I was much, much younger.
This is going to sound really strange, but I once wrote both of those phrases on my legs in paint pen. What can I say, I was in high school and thought I was VERY clever! ;)
Hehe, signs like these were made for those of us that are horrible spellers and read phonetically. There have been times when seeing something like this I don't even realize that the spellings say a totally different meaning than what I read.
Haha. I get it. I'm surprised, but I do. Thanks for sharing this.
I don't get it. I am a literal person too and sometimes I have trouble stepping out of my box.
Sounds like political peace speak to me - along the lines of Save the Whales. I won't disclose the intended phrase as to spoil it for others. Got to say these words fast in order to hear what they mean.
Interesting use of closely pronounced words.
Ha ha, I love this! I saw this a few years ago on a bumper sticker and did get it right away, but then i am not a very literal person...we need literal people to keep things sane, and us not-so-literal people to appreciate the insane~ Thanks Keetha!
OOOOOHHHHHH! Now I get it!
