Many of you have asked where in the world I've been.

All I know is that after 7 plus years of blogging and a different lappy, which I don’t like, I seem to have lost my blogging fervor.

Someday, when you least expect it, I will post again.

For those of you still waiting I say thank you.

Meanwhile, I am rather prolific on twitter. Find me: @KeethaB

Out of Industrial Views

.

Day two of house hunting brought us OUT of industrial views and into views like this:

The Wisconsin River running past the back doorstep.

And while I would LOVE to wake up each morning to this scene,

Or sit on the back stoop sipping latte watching this flow by - - - Fisherhubby and I weren't so excited about the "views" on the INSIDE of that house.

So, after politely walking through, ignoring all the aromas and scars left by many past renters, we smiled, thanked the landlord, and said good-bye. We had OTHER fish to fry that day - - -

So, off we trundled to peruse a plethora of places. (like my alliteration?) All the while networking via cell phone with landlords and realtors, trying to locate the "perfect place."

I can tell you, this marathon house hunting ordeal is QUITE exhausting!

Finally, around 2, we decided a little nourishment and icy drink were in order. With that goal in mind, we headed to the local Culver's.

As we sat there, feeling bluer than blue, the phone kept ringing - - - or in the case of MY phone, playing "Fer Elise."

One of the calls was from Ginger, we are LOVING Ginger - - - she has been an angel sent down from above to aid us in our hour of need - - - to give us the address of a house that was for sure for rent, and was located out near the campgrounds where we are staying - - - which is, of course, the EXACT location in which we'd love to live!

I'm not going to show you a picture of the house yet - - - we get to see it inside and out today at 2:00, but let me just say WE WANT THIS HOUSE!!!!

It has been carved out of a piney woods. No one has been there for a while, and the grass (Fisherhubby says it isn't grass - - - it's weeds, but it looked like grass to my biology teacher eyes) is very long.

As no one was there - - - Fisherhubby and I wandered around the premises and felt our hopes and dreams rising.

We have visions of deer and even BEAR visiting our yard - - - oh wouldn't THAT be loverly!?!

We do have a couple of other places to check too - - - but we are HOPING at 2:00 today we will be able to report that we have SECURED our new home.

You'll just have to tune back in to see - - -

After that we returned to our gorgeous lake, where - - -

Fisherhubby did what fisherhubbies do.

After that, while I was contentedly blogging away, Fisherhubby did some of this

With old Turd Ferguson by his side.

At supper time, we headed out for a chili supper

In the home of my dear friends and former youth pastor, Jerry and Connie. Jerry loves outdoor quests, just like Fisherhubby, so Greg felt he had made a new true friend.

After a relaxing and delicious dinner we headed back to our camper and the warmth of this - - -

Our cozy camper friend!!!
Amazing how much comfort comes out of this tiny little thing.

And now, before I bid you adieu,
A little camping puzzle.

What in the WORLD have we here?

A few hints perhaps?
It too provides comfort.
And is a true blue vintage item!

Looks like chili was just the ticket for your gray day, and I know the host and hostess were simply The Best! Greg will have to adjust his lawn expectations from IN to WI Rapids standards. Leaves more time for fishing that way too!

How well I remember the comfort one of your vintage items provided during our young'un days in Hayward! Not the same one, is it?

When I was a little girl, we lived in town, but had many friends in the 'country'. I spent the night with one couple once...and while 'outdoor toilets' were hard to take...when she told me I would have to use 'THAT' during the night...I called my Mama to come and get me! She didn't...and I did not stay there until the plumbing had been installed in doors!

Best of luck with the house!

This sounds really exciting. The spot sounds heavenly to say the least. I pray it all works out.
So is that being used as a potty or are you making chili?

It's a potty to use after you make and EAT the chili!!

I prefer a 5 star hotel, but happy to hear you are enjoying this!

Good luck in the home hunt

It sounds like to consensus is that you've got yourself a pot to piss in LOL I don't think I've ever said that before and it made me blush!

I'm so excited to hear that you've seen the rental and that you love the inside as much as the setting. Can't wait until you show us some more views, because I love what you've shown so far!!

That is most definitely the slop jar version of a chamber pot. I'm loving those lake views you are showing. Hope all goes well and you are soon sipping a latte and watching "ole man river".

Best,
Bonnie

Oh if only that chamber pot could talk ... the stories it would be able to tell!!
The pictures of your napping hubby make me smile. He was so tired he didn't even take his coat, hat or glasses off to sleep. :)

I read ALL of your posts in my Google Reader, including the one that isn't here. I'm just not sure how to comment now!

I have my father-inlaws enamel chamber pot from when he and his siblings were kids. Weird, but I can't let it go.

I can assure I do not need any hints on the pot. Been there and used that.

Well, my guess is its a stock pot....or my second guess, as said in the south, "it's your pot to piss in". I am going with #2.

The landscape....gorgeous!
