Brunhilda and Borris Bearsaltandpepper, but you may call us Brunhilda and Borris Bearsaltandpepper, back for some more Northwoods Adventure reporting. Today we want to share a little something we like to call "Meet and Greet."
It all started when - - -
Adam helped us check into the Grand Stay in Eau Claire. He was so nice, and so accomodating, and we did SO enjoy meeting him, that we decided right then and there we'd like to "Meet and Greet" as many folks as possible and try to bring a little ray of Northwoods sunshine into their lives.
And here's who we've met:
Miss McKayla at the Ben Franklin, Northwoods Craft and Variety. We already told you about her, but she is one of the first we were able to "Meet and Greet" and we sure didn't want to leave her out!
Yesterday when Miss Keetha and Fisherhubby were shopping around town, they ran into McKayla TWICE, so I guess that now makes her an old friend, doesn't it?
This little gal helped us check out with our groceries at "The Marketplace." Unfortunately we were still really new at this "Meetin' and Greetin'" game and we FORGOT to get her name.
This is Miss Kate. She was our waitress at Karibalis. Miss Keetha and Fisherhubby have gotten to know her over the years they've been vacationing up north. She even remembered them and called them by NAME this year. We love Miss Kate.
Miss Paige was our waitress yesterday at the Angler Bar & Grill Patio. She had a smile that brought out the sunshine. She didn't know what a blog was, but was happy to "star" in one anyway. Thanks Miss Paige!
Oh dear bloggy fans, THESE are Uncle Ben and Aunt Lois. Uncle Ben is a pastor in Hayward, and you've already heard of Aunt Lois and her "3 rolls of aluminum foil" fame. Miss Keetha calls them Uncle Ben and Aunt Lois 'cause they ARE her Uncle Ben and Aunt Lois - - - really and truly. Aunt Lois is a sister to Miss Keetha's father.
This is Miss Rosie who works in a gorgeous little pottery and art shop. Miss Keetha met her last year because she is the M-I-L of one of the readers of this blog. Oh yes she is. She always takes time out of her busy work day for a chat and a smile.
We just love our "Little Pastor in the Woods," Pastor Mark. He is also a blogger, and you can find his blog here. Miss Keetha and Fisherhubby attend his church while they are in Hayward. He may be a "Little Pastor," but his church is pretty big - - - averaging about 700 attendance in a town of just over 2,000!!!
No, this is NOT a black bear like us, but she IS a furry friend. Meet Cheney, our vacation dog!!! She "claims" whomever is staying in the Little Cabin on Gull Lake. Fisherhubby brings her doggy bag treats and she wags her WHOLE BODY with excitement. We'd love to take her home with us if we didn't think the OTHER cabin dwellers would miss her.
Now here's what we've learned from our "Meetin' and Greetin'" game. We THOUGHT we'd be taking a ray of northwoods sunshine to the people we met, but it turns out THEY gave us more sunshine than we could ever repay.
We think we LOVE the northwoods.

This SO great! I love the friendly way of you all from Wisconsin! Our Nephew and Niece and their 22 month old son spent the eve. and night with us yesterday. They're driving toward Manitowoc right now. They're moving home after living in Washington for several years.
K.B. that just goes to show how much sunshine YOU bring to others. All those people looked happy to help you out with the adventures of B&B. Ahhh, the midwest people are very friendly, that's what I like about where we live. Illinoians are like that too!!!!!
Glad you had such a nice experience with all these wonderful people. You were fortunate, as you do not find that every where. Sounds like everyone had a ball.
Cheney looks just like our old girl, Maxine.
Boy these guys get around. I think it is time they went on a cruise. Or maybe to Italy. I can come and help translate because I know a couple of words.
Looks like they are being "salt and light" out in the world :)
They sure get around!
Reminds me of the time I was vacationing and someone asked me to pose with her neighbor's borrowed garden gnome.
Did I mention I was dressed like a mobster's girlfriend for a murder mystery party?
I think the Northwoods loves you too. What a hoot that you got so many photos of the bears with your friendly neighbors. :) Totally cool.
It's good to see Ben and Lois again.
lots of vacation fun!
I love that you did this!! It's like you're on vacation with the Travelocity Gnome. (But two, and much cuter.)
Cheney reminds me so much of our Maggie I'd have a tough time not stuffing her into my luggage. :-)
