Many of you have asked where in the world I've been.

All I know is that after 7 plus years of blogging and a different lappy, which I don’t like, I seem to have lost my blogging fervor.

Someday, when you least expect it, I will post again.

For those of you still waiting I say thank you.

Meanwhile, I am rather prolific on twitter. Find me: @KeethaB

I Got the Memo - - -

.

Remember my friend Vickie who didn't "get the memo" earlier this week? Well now I got it and tomorrow I'll go have my first pedi of the season so my feet can look like this:

(Aside: get your pedi's at your local beauty school for $10 plus tip)

Now don't get me wrong, it has NOT warmed up here in North Central Indiana, it's only 47 degrees as I type this and the biting cold wind she is a howling!!! (Jewel is STILL wearing her underalls I can guarantee it!!)

And NO I do NOT intend to start wearing flip flops and capris while it's still practically the dead of winter around here. No I will NOT do that. I am far too old for such frivolities. (Jewel is YOUNG, but she is SMART, and I would know - - - I was her science teacher for 4 years, and she doesn't mess with flip flops in this subarctic weather either)

The reason I am going to put on a pair of flip flops and some capris tomorrow morning, brave this arctic Indiana weather and venture forth to my local salon for a pedi is so that Sunday when I AM wearing flip flops and capris as I cross over this:

To get to this:

My feet will not look like this:

Because you see, LAST YEAR they did look JUST LIKE THAT and my dear M-I-L (Grammy in my comments) would NOT believe those were my feet, and thus she discredited my photo evidence that I did actually walk on the beach.

Oh, I shall avoid THAT mistake this year by getting the pedi, in spite of nearly subzero chills, right here in Indiana BEFORE we're "Leaving on a Jet Plane!!!" And should I die of pneumonia as a result of exposure to the harsh elements, well then Grammy will just have to live with that, won't she??? (Oh I do hope you are reading, Grammy.)

That's right my dear bloggy friends, we are headed to Sunny Florida and warmer climes early on Sunday, long before it is even bright. We're going to be enjoying the sights and sounds of Marco and Naples,

Where I hope to enjoy these beautiful Bismark Palms,

Vistas like this (possibly even this very SAME vista)

And food just like this, though NOT this SAME salad which was eaten over a year ago by my F-I-L, so is no longer available for consumption, and being a year old even if it WERE available it would no longer look anything like this nor would I venture to try it.

I hope to eat that food in this very restaurant - - - The Dock at Naples. After (or before - - - depending upon the progression of my nonscheduled tropical days) I hope to shop here:

Tin City, which though it may not qualify for Leigh's Thrifty Thursday stuff - - -

Is certainly full of lots of fun little goodies, and very colorful too, don't'cha think?

Now, in conclusion, (do I sound like a preacher???? Should I go on and on for about 8 more points???) Now, in conclusion my dear little bloggy friends - - - there will NOT be any announcement at this point about me being sorry to be away from blogging for a few days but that I shall soon return.

Au contraire!!!! I shall be taking lappy with me for blogging is more fun to me than walking on beaches or shopping in quaint little village shops. It may not be MORE fun to me than eating, but it is right up there in a DEAD HEAT TIE with eating - - - so lappy will be going with me and I shall be blogging to my hearts content EACH AND EVERY DAY while I am away.

Why, you may not even realize I am gone.

;-)

;-)

And that is a wink wink just to seal the deal.

Headless - - - according to my laptop weather bug, it is going to be in the mid 70's to mid 80's while we are in Naples. I'll be happy for that!! Also, I put a link in the comments on your blog about the HotFlops.

Amy - - - I already HAD Spring Break last week!!!! Hubby has a medical education seminar in FL this week and I'm just tagging along. SO - - - I get an EXTRA week out of school, never mind that I had to make 24 lesson plans in order to do it!!!

You will not believe...I have been polishing nails and trying to be a "girlie girl" but it is not easy to keep polish on...running a "gourmet" restaurant, cat farm, caregiving for two "older" folks, running all errands, hosting the garden club, re-decorating and playing in our spring garden...oh yes, and attending a play at the college. Madison is hosting "Bike Florida" this week and we have had several events going on for the bikers which have really been fun!!!! Spring is here and we LOVE it. The dogwoods, and azaleas have been spectacular this year!!! BTW, remember our music teacher here at college (from Ball State) we found out just this week her position is being cut and we are all SICK about it. She was wonderful!!! She wants to go back to Indiana and I can't blame her for that. Anyway, that's all the news from here where all the people are good looking and the kids are way above average...tee hee...guess where I got that????

Ask Greg about some valuable info I gave him today about "Creed"....also I want a pair of those "auto shoes with rollers"...they are to die for!!!!! Where did you get those??

Grammy - I don't have to guess about the expression, I KNOW - - - you STOLE it from "A Prairie Home Companion"

Only his version says the kids are all above average I believe.

About the car shoes - - - I can't divulge my source. Hehehehehehe

Oh, welcome to my state! I'll be sure and toss some sunshine down your way. I've never been to Naples, but that little row of shops looks like a lot of fun!

Enjoy your beach time - your toes in the sand and I wish you free hotel internet :)

Hope the sun shines for you every day you're there! Enjoy!

Keetha,

Not only will I notice I will MISS YOU! I will miss my daily Keetha post and daily comments. Sad. But do have a great time. You cannot know how you baited me with the tin store. I would love to go inside and see what its like.

I need to paint my toenails but they're getting harder to reach with my baby belly in the way and getting bigger every day! :)

That's cool you're visiting Naples. The Tin City place is fun for an hour or so. See if you can get out in the Everglades as long as you're going down to Marco Island. I'm on the eastern side of the Glades....

And I grew up partly in Hobart/Valpo.

Love your new toes!!!! I am so jealous!! I want to go back to Florida. But, since I went and did take an extra day coming back, not to mention I went to Costa Rica the week before that I think in all honesty I have had my break. But I sure miss the sunshine being warm. The sun is shining brightly through my windows this morning but the thermometer says 34 degrees. Brrrr. I will miss your morning visits at school. Enjoy yourself girl! You deserve it!!

LOL Vickie - - - those are my LAST YEAR'S TOES!!! I'm on my way now to get this year's version - - - it's 41, I might FREEZE to death in these capris and flip flops!!!

LOL Sherry!!! Admiring my beautiful feet, you make me chuckle right out loud!

I am SO jealous! I actually almost cried when I saw the pictures of Vanderbilt and that is no lie. I am CRAVING a vacation to that very beach. :(

I DO hope you have an awesome time!!! And BE SAFE!! Love you both. :)

Keetha Broyles said...

Keri, I told my sophomores about how you usually send me an SOS e-mail or phone call saying, "I have a really bad feeling - - - please don't go."

They said if you DIDN'T do that this time I wasn't to go.

Nancy said...

Enjoy Florida with your fancy toes, and please be out on the beach while you blog.

Keetha Broyles said...

Oh, I'll walk out on the beach a time or two - - - but I'd really rather blog.

We're at Pam's condo, and it isn't at the beach. My F-I-L lives at the beach and we'll be over there some and I'll walk down to the sand and surf then.

Julie said...

Oh my word-you have no idea how jealous I am! I hope you have a wonderful time!
