Many of you have asked where in the world I've been.

All I know is that after 7 plus years of blogging and a different lappy, which I don’t like, I seem to have lost my blogging fervor.

Someday, when you least expect it, I will post again.

For those of you still waiting I say thank you.

Meanwhile, I am rather prolific on twitter. Find me: @KeethaB

More Snow for Those Who Like to See But Not Feel

.

I'm simply enraptured by the winter wonderland around me - - - especially when it is so easy to observe through a window. ;-)

Though I will confess, I am also enjoying getting right out IN IT too.

So many childhood memories are crowding into my mind. Ice skating for hours at a time, taking off my skates to hold my frozen toes to warm them, sliding down snow drifts, walking to school with icicles forming in my nose, eyebrows, and hair, dressing in front of the oil space heater, holding my sister by the neck so she couldn't run home faster than me, and playing Fox and Geese - - - to name just a few.

This picnic area was deserted yesterday - - -

I wonder why!? Just a few short weeks ago it was filled with happy folk enjoying their lunch.

Everywhere I drove I saw mail boxes just barely peeping out of their snowy blanket, two to three foot high snow banks along the road, squalls of white snow dust blowing across my path - - -

And homes tucked snugly into their winter whites.

"Ah!" My spirit cried, "These are the joys of winter!"

And this morning, through my bedroom window, I spied sastrugi - - -

Etched into the snow by the howling winter gales - - -

Sparkling with ice diamonds in the early morning sun.

I love Wisconsin winters! I remember waking up in the morning, and thinking nothing of it being 30 below outside. Sorry to be graphic, but your snot would instantly freeze! And the Christmas lights look so pretty, glowing under all that snow. I'm so jealous of you, Keetha!

It's so pretty! We got some last night too and more tonight. Not as much as you, but schools are all closed.

I played a lot of games when I was a kid, but never heard of Fox and Geese? Enlighten me, please!

looks like you're walkin in a winter wonderland! We got some snow but not like you! Everyone had a two hour delay but Lakeview. How about there? Did they have delays or cancelations? I'm guessing not since they are so used to the snow.

OK, just gotta know: what window are you looking out of in the 1st pic? Also, how does one play Fox and Geese? It's totally erased from my winter memories.

You folks are really getting a lot of snow. It's giving me the cold shivers just thinking about it. Oh I love the snow, I do. I love the crunch under my feet, the satisfaction of shoveling the driveway, playing with the snowblower, and the snow sculptures that accumulate on things.

Ahhh. Thanks for the tour!
