NNO, National Night Out, is held each August in our church parking lot. It's a block party, sponsored cooperatively by law enforcement and community, with a purpose.
We didn't have the butcher, the baker, or the candlestick maker, but we DID HAVE:
The mayor,
(Yes, he really IS that young.)

The balloon hats, made by this magician,
Went off with a bang - - -

Looks like you had a blast! And yes... your mayor looks really young!
I remember reading about this post last year (Wow, has it been that long?) and thinking I wish we had something like it here. Unfortunately that is about as far as it has gone, hopefully by the time you post your next annual instalment of such a great event, I will have been involved in something similar!
Oh and great capture of the balloon popping!
I feel sure you had a hat! :) That is a great thing and looks like everyone works together in your city!
I love that the mayor is so young.
That sounds like such fun! And so nice to see the "officers" looking so young. I like those balloon hats!
What a great community event. Looks like you all had a great turn out too.
This looks like so much fun!
And I love your football nails from your last post - are you getting pumped for football season?
Looks like a blast!
Our mayor is very young too, makes me feel OLD!
Seems like you have a youthful edge to the leaders in your community!
With every passing SIMC, I like your town more and more, dear Keetha. I also like all those men in suits and uniforms. They're pretty darn cute. ;-)

Good for you, building community and having fun while educating and loving your town!
I have to love your church from afar, but I think you're doing a good work!
Super cool! Our community needs to do something like that. Thanks for the inspiration.
Happy Sunday!
:-)

How fun Keetha!
Yes I'm still around but my blogging time is sure limited.
I wish we had something like this in BRF, most of our festivals are rather dull.
We're getting a bunch of rain right now and I should head back to bed.
Daughter broke up with boyfriend and moved back home so Addison is with us 24/7. We are so happy to have her but our break times are sure limited.
My mom's parkinson's really flared up this past 2 weeks and i have been so busy helping her as well.
I am a true sandwich generation right now.
Hugs friend,
Cindy
Fun for all!
Young mayor has energy to take care young and old, right?
Have a good week!
The exploding hat pic is cool! That would be hard to do again! And that police dog is a beauty!
What a fun time! Love the hats.
Looks like your NNO was a big success. Lots of smiling faces and wow all those stuffed animals!
