Many of you have asked where in the world I've been.

All I know is that after 7 plus years of blogging and a different lappy, which I don’t like, I seem to have lost my blogging fervor.

Someday, when you least expect it, I will post again.

For those of you still waiting I say thank you.

Meanwhile, I am rather prolific on twitter. Find me: @KeethaB

Finding Room at the Inn

..

When I hung my wreaths this year, I really thought that was all the Christmas decorating I was going to do.

I had had ENOUGH of packing and unpacking boxes.

Then one day last week I thought I could just possibly face a Christmas box or two - - - and so I did and here are the results:

This IS our Christmas tree for this year. It is amazing how we have gotten all our "stuff" from a 4 bedroom house into this small duplex, but there is nary a corner left over for a traditional Christmas tree.

I think MAYBE I've figured out how to put one up NEXT Christmas - - - but that will be a story for then.

A touch of green and red with white Moravian Star candle holders.

A snowman, tiny Christmas train, and glass ball ornaments bedeck the sofa table.

A tiny village of "dollar houses" (given to me by my children in Christmas Past) nestles atop the pie safe which is being guarded by the Christmas Cat.

Only kind of cat we allow in this house. ;-)

Kings hold council 'neath the dressing table-slash-buffet while Mr. Swan swims merrily atop bearing bits of red and green.

Another king, far too large for the buffet council, stands at attention near the front door.

And there IS room in this Inn for the Baby Jesus.

"Be near me Lord Jesus, I ask thee to stay
Close by me forever and love me I pray.
Bless all the dear children in Thy tender care
And take us to heaven to live with Thee there."

From Away in a Manger
Words by an unknown author.

First published in a Lutheran Sunday School book for children.

And with that, I wish you ALL
a Very Merry Christmas.

Keetha, you have all the elements that are really important for the holiday -- you Believe.

I think your delicate holiday touches are just enough for this year. I give you a pass on the tree ... but next year? We want to see a tree even if you hang it from the kitchen light fixture and let it swing in the breeze from your oven which will be overflowing with hundreds of home baked cookies.

In our smallest NYC apartment, Howard and I had a small Norfolk Island Pine houseplant, and we decorated that for Christmas! What matters is what's in your heart ...

As long as there's room for the Babe, and for the Three Wise Guys, you are set. It must be a very different experience for you this year, and I admire that you are handling it with grace.

Love, Cass

I think it looks GREAT.. it isnt the size of the tree- its the size of the heart that displays it and yours is HUGE~!!

Looks like you have just the right Christmas touches - and maybe it won't be so overwhelming that it stays out until the 4th of July! There's plenty of room in the FBC for a REAL tree next year. I'll send Joe your way in January 2012 to help clean up the needles from the stairway! haha

The snow on the wreaths is so pretty! And I love the wreath around the white bowl and pitcher. What a great idea!

Great decorating! I noticed your little Christmas train ... my boys have trained me to see them, heh!

Did I miss something? Did you move?

I think your house looks wonderfully festive! You don't need another tree---maybe some pine scented candles will do for ambiance. (We got our tree yesterday and it can sit atop GG's cleared coffee table.) It will look big from outdoors.
