Many of you have asked where in the world I've been.

All I know is that after 7 plus years of blogging and a different lappy, which I don’t like, I seem to have lost my blogging fervor.

Someday, when you least expect it, I will post again.

For those of you still waiting I say thank you.

Meanwhile, I am rather prolific on twitter. Find me: @KeethaB

Christmas Table

.

We were invited to my friend Connie's house for Christmas dinner. This is Connie seated with her SIL Sally standing behind her.

Connie had gone to much trouble to make a lovely meal AND a beautiful table. Since I don't "do" beautiful tables, I thought I'd share hers with all of you.

First, this is her china hutch in the dining room. It is FILLED with beautiful Christmas china. I am especially fond of the unusual platters - - - the bell and the star.

I'm pretty "gone" over the ruby red Christmas stemware too!

And this is her table. I don't think ANYTHING says Christmas better than red and green, and in THIS case the green is a centerpiece made with fresh pine boughs, candles, and carnations.

It was ALMOST a shame to mess up this beauty by eating.

Oh, but fear not - - - we sat around that table and dug RIGHT in.

My plate did NOT look this pretty and pristine AFTER I ate, I can just tell you!

Thank you, Connie for a beautiful table, a wonderful meal, and great fellowship!

Since this IS a table setting, and since I NEVER do one myself, I'm linking to "Table Top Tuesday."

Beautiful table and hutch. I have that same pattern, Winterberry, and will be using it tomorrow night for one last celebration.

So pretty and the napkins are pretty too. I used plain white ones and didn't like the look at all.
Can't just wipe the gravy off my face with any old napkin now can I.
BTW Boxing Day was for sharing with the lesser class. Now I wouldn't say my guests were of a "lesser class" but they did bring me gifts so it must be me.

It is nice to enjoy great meals on a pretty table setting once in awhile. Now at my house, no such thing. When you are by yourself, just eat out of the pot.

What a pretty table. I do make an effort once in a while but as I haven't got any really beautiful china my tables just have to rely on the quality of the food alone. Minimalist, that's what my table settings are!

That hutch is lovely. Over here in England we call it a china cabinet. A hutch is where we keep the pet rabbit. I love hearing your American English expressions. I even have a book explaining some of them - and any other kind of English you can think of.

Winterberry is such a pretty pattern....it's a shame not to use them all winter long.
