Many of you have asked where in the world I've been.

All I know is that after 7 plus years of blogging and a different lappy, which I don’t like, I seem to have lost my blogging fervor.

Someday, when you least expect it, I will post again.

For those of you still waiting I say thank you.

Meanwhile, I am rather prolific on twitter. Find me: @KeethaB

Bear Shopping

.

These bears say it all - - - SHE shops here:

Seems that last year, a week or so after we went home from vacation, a she-bear decided to do her shopping right here at my favorite Hayward Grocery Store.

Being a very well-read bear, she made sure she followed the signs and entered through the correct door.

Once in, she had choices:

To the left, fruits and vegetables. Straight ahead, liquor, and

Deep inside all the other departments including yummy smelling baked goods.

She chose liquor. Wouldn't have been my personal preference - - - but hey, to each she-bear her own.

The human shoppers were all herded out of the store so she could shop without interruption.

A little later she became very sleepy, after feeling the sting from a little dart, and was carried out of the store by several helping hands.

Today one of her close relatives, whose fate was far more painful than her own, graces "her" liquor department as a reminder of her brave adventure.

The End.

I'm with Linda. Straight to the pastries for me, too.

Are there any safeguards in place to prevent further bear invasions?

Though, all things considered, how would they do that, short of an archer in the parking lot?

Such excitement in Small Town America.

Ah! What a hoot! I wonder what kind of hangover that bear had after a bunch of alcohol and a dart. Whew! That would be one grumpy bear.

Love that the store has now used the bear as a sellable product - haha!

The bear shops here :)

Glad to hear that she got out alive. Don't you just wonder what she was thinking when she saw all the goodies?

"TOO CUTE"... I'm VERY HAPPY to hear that the "STUFFED BEAR" isn't her... Hmmmm and considering "SHE" headed for the LIQUOR, are they SURE it wasn't a "HE BEAR"... and MAYBE "SHE" passed out from the liquor and NOT the dart, hehe...
LOVE IT,
Bear Hugs, Donna
