My Particular Grindstone
I spent most of today getting my particular grindstone ready for my nose. The students come tomorrow. After that it is turn, turn, turn that grindstone until May.
In light of that, I thought maybe I should show you the old stone :
This corner is the TEACHER ZONE.
And here is a broader view of that portion of the room.
Yah, I'm that old fashioned kind of teacher who writes on a chalk board and makes her students take notes. I'll use those white boards for daily schedules and class information like next test and next lab dates.
And here's the lab portion of my stone.
None of this will be this peaceful between the hours of 8 AM and 3 PM again until May.

Doesn't the feeling of chalk just make you gag? I HATE it! Even watching people write with it just makes my fingers feel dry and dirty! Oh well.....whatever works! Good luck with the students tomorrow! You'll have to whip the new ones in to shape and whip the old ones BACK in to shape!
Tammy, what I CAN'T stand while teaching is a white board - - - - They don't clean up well with repeated use. And for some reason I can't make my writing (printing actually) look very nice on them.
I use a chalk holder, so my hands don't get all chalky.
Good luck on your first day of school! You don't give homework the first day do you? :)
What a beautiful classroom! It must be a pleasure to teach (or learn?) here!
Awww. These pictures bring back great memories of Lakeview, Keetha. How´d the first day go? My week has been busy, but I'm enjoying my new classes.
Awesome lab!!! Great post Keetha!
Yep. It looks like a nice lab area.
No Julie, I do not, and I probably won't give any tomorrow either. I'm just "soft" that way. ;-)
Thanks to ALL of you for the kind words about my class room.
Actually your class room and lab room gave papa a big chill - flash backs! i did graduate in the top 20 of my senior class though - we had 17.
Keetha-I had to ask! I have a friend that is a high school math teacher and gives homework EVERY. SINGLE. DAY. I always give her a hard time about it!
