They sit real still and let me take their picture. So THIS photo is clearer than my bird pictures. (There - - - NOW can you follow my reasoning?)
But what kind of mushrooms are these?Later Addendum: I've been searching keys, nothing is EXACTLY right for these. The closest thing I can find is the Jack 'O Lantern Mushroom, Omphalotus olearius.

Ah, those would be the "roasted marshmallow" variety of mushrooms. Wouldn't they?

Hey - - - good name. Only these are really orange - - - so orange I saw them from the house and went out onto the gold course to see what they were.
They're the ugly kind! And why would they fly?!?!

The "don't fly" is in reference to the bird photos I try to take - - - they are never very clear because I can't get very close to them.

For starters, I'd say they're not edible and they look a little like puffballs, except for the stems, of course.

OK - - - I have spent quite a bit of time today TRYING to run these mushrooms through three or four mushroom keys (one book, three online)
I'm finding NADA that is EXACTLY what I have here - - - but the CLOSEST one I can find is called a Jack o'Lantern mushroom, Omphalotus olearius
Shannon - - - school is fine. Again my morning schedule is easy and the afternoon is a killer - - - not as BAD an afternoon as last year - - - - but we're only in the second week.
I would definitely say they are gold colored/orange colored mushrooms that came out of the ground. How am I doing so far ?? They are not morels!!

They could also be orange stump mushrooms (Naematoloma capnoides). Maybe check to see what's common in your area?
I looked at those, Plastic. These are very orange and bigger than those. These are 8 inches or more tall, the stalks can be up to an inch in diameter and the caps 5 or more inches in diameter. The caps are also rather flat.
Those orange mushys are strange looking...

36 years ago, in Fairbanks, AK, some friends picked mushrooms at the airport! They cooked them and froze them....I wouldn't touch them with a ten foot pole! I search carefully for mushrooms to remove from food!
Well - - - I'm not EATING this one. If it is what I think, the Jack 'o Lantern, it is mildly poisonous according to the keys.
BUT - - - I DO love me some good mushrooms. I never eat the wild kind, only the ones I buy in the grocery store.

We had a woods on the farm in IN (where I69 is now)during the 40's and I remember daddy finding these HUGE mushrooms and they were so large, they filled a bushel basket. He checked with someone and they told daddy there were edible and they were absolutely delicious; HOWEVER, I don't remember them being orange so DON'T eat them.
I would be concerned a child might get ahold of them. Have you called the golf course manager???
There are no children in this neighborhood - - - and if OUR grandchildren come here I don't let them go out there unattended. Nope, I haven't told the golf course. They'll have to find them and mow them down themselves.
I don't think these are edible, so I'm not going to try that.

There was an article in Tally paper not too long ago about mushies, but not only am I a procrastinator...I am also very forgetful...Ha!!!
Maybe Cousin Pam remembers what article said, but then that would be FL mushies NOT IN mushies.

There is a fungus among us!
I love fungus (in the yard, not on my skin). There are so many cool and beautiful varieties. My fairy ring should pop up some time in the next month or so and I'll try to post pics.
I'm not sure what kind you have; They're like no 'shroom I've ever seen up here.
I've never seen any exactly like this any place else either.
