Many of you have asked where in the world I've been.

All I know is that after 7 plus years of blogging and a different lappy, which I don’t like, I seem to have lost my blogging fervor.

Someday, when you least expect it, I will post again.

For those of you still waiting I say thank you.

Meanwhile, I am rather prolific on twitter. Find me: @KeethaB

Moving Ahead

All of you have been so gracious in expressing your concern for our family as we are going through the loss of our mom. I thought I'd just let you see how we are doing:

My only sibling, sister Pam, and her husband Joe returned from Oregon yesterday. They met us and Dad for lunch today. We enjoyed a wonderful time of fellowship together.

Many ask what dad will do now that mom is gone since he has given so many years caring for her. They wonder if he will have trouble filling his time.

This amazing man already has a plan. Being a retired minister, he plans to spend his days volunteering visiting those who are hospitalized or shut-in. He is a true servant care-giver and he plans to continue being just that.

He has already mulched up the dead parts of his garden, picked and canned green beans, had the hospital bed and ramp removed from his home, taken care of all the funeral arrangements (I went WITH him - - - though to say I HELPED would be a gross overstatement - - - he had EVERY detail already under control.)

When we met with the mortician, who has been a long time family friend, he said to dad, "John, when you get to heaven you are going to have to walk bent backwards because the jewels in your crown will be so heavy you will not be able to hold your head up."

He's got that right!!!

What a tribute to your father, Keetha. I agree with Keri.

It was John Storey who said it.

That was very sweet, Keetha. I have tears in my eyes.

What a strong man your father must be to already know what his path is. I know he will miss her but it will be a blessing to have his days full.

Will be thinking of you this week.

Healed in the arms of Jesus; her suffering and pain has ended! Also, your dad is a true testimony of faithfulness - a commitment to faith and to family. Thinking of you this week...

Your dad has such a beautiful spirit, Keetha! What you have shared about him has been a tremendous blessing as you´ve let us see his heart, his love for your mom, and his love for his Lord. Thanks for sharing with us and giving us this glimpse of your dad!

I'm so glad to see your dad staying busy! My FIL died in May and my MIL is trying hard to stay busy and actually she has a lot to do! Your family is precious!

Yes Keetha, I do. I think perhaps I'll have to give him a blog post or two of his own later. Thanks for keeping us in your thoughts.
