Many of you have asked where in the world I've been.

All I know is that after 7 plus years of blogging and a different lappy, which I don’t like, I seem to have lost my blogging fervor.

Someday, when you least expect it, I will post again.

For those of you still waiting I say thank you.

Meanwhile, I am rather prolific on twitter. Find me: @KeethaB

Sunday Reruns - "Stand Back Said the Elephant - - -"

.

I get sooooo excited about our bloggy Sunday reruns!!! Thanks so much to Chari over at Happy to Design for hosting Sunday Favorites.

I Hate To Admit It - - -
(First posted on 12/01/07)

But when I was a girl I used to laugh at my father. I didn't even try to hide it, I just laughed right in his face. He used to have (wonder if he still does) early morning sneezing attacks. He would sneeze and sneeze and sneeze. I used to count how many sneezes and laugh at his discomfort.

I was too young then to realize the ramifications of the phrase, "you reap what you sow."

Not any more.

Thankfully, my sneezing attacks are also usually in the morning - - - I can't imagine what would happen in my classroom if I descended into a fit of sneezing right during class.

I'm too busy while I'm sneezing to count mine to see if I have topped my father's in QUANTITY - - - but I can tell you, at least from what I remember, I have FAR exceeded him in QUALITY. My sneezes are so loud and so forceful they would put the elephant of "Stand Back," Said the Elephant, "I'm Going to Sneeze" (by Patricia Thomas) to shame!!!!

Greg is usually patient with the first sneeze or two - - - then he tells me to "stop it." Oh how I WISH I could.

New Addendum: Since writing this post back in December of '07, I HAVE started sneezing in front of my classes at school.

To date I have "blown away" over half of my students. ;-)

I surely believe in the reap/sow principle! So funny as we get older we are more like our parents every year!

Oh I remember that book! I loved it!

I'm a violent "sneezer" too. Folks always say "Bless you!" with awe in their voice. I don't have attacks though - SHEESH. The old bladder would deal me fits if I did that!

Have a wonderful weekend Keetha.

I just popped by to catch up on your blogginess. I too have been inattentive to my blog recently, but I'm back. I loved your snow photos, Beautiful.
Just so you know, I am a champion sneezer. When I was a kid, my mother would cross to the other side of the street when we were walking and I had a sneeze attack. My students, the classrooms on both sides, the one behind me, the ones across the yard...All got to enjoy my sneezing fits. I had a rep.

Oh my, well, glad you are no longer a "closet sneezer". I had to chuckle because, I went through a stage when I would laugh at my dad too. If he began to scold me for something, I would just laugh. It was because he looked so funny saying "I'm serious!" Well, he didn't look too serious to me!

Oh dear, although that sounds funny, I'm sure it's not a lot of fun! I guess your students are now getting the chance to laugh at you the way you did at your Dad...you know what they say about paybacks! ;-) Cute post and "Gesundheit"!!

Keetha girl, you are off the hook. You know why? It is an inherited condition. I don't remember where I heard that but it was many years ago.
My husband sneezes like that too, as did his grandmother. The dog used to freak out when it happened until she got used to it. It is not so much fun when he is driving and it starts.
So sneeze proudly and loudly. It is as much a part of you as your lovely eyes or you insane love of football...that was inherited too wasn't it?

Hi Keetha...

Ohhh...you poor dear! My honey has the same problems...he has sneezing fits, however they can beseige him at any given moment! I feel so sorry for him because sometimes he can hardly catch his breath!

Well my dear, blowing away half your classroom is NOT a good thing! Hmmm...now I'm wondering if your students do the same thing you did to your father? Do they count the sneezes? Eeeeks! Well my dear friend, I am so happy to have you (once again) for Sunday Favorites!

Have a super Sunday, Darlin'!

No "meltage" in central NY...but not enough snow at one time to have a snow day yet this year (which is very rare)...loved your blogs last week about sastrugi...We get lots here! And you are so lucky with all your delays and snow days...Tomorrow, back to the ol' grind for me!

Ahh, that posts brings back memories of reading "I hate to alarm you, but I don't wish to harm you..."

Hi. My name is Leigh. I used to laugh at my dad in the mornings when he sneezed 32 times in the bathroom.
Now I am a sneezer too. You get what you give, huh?

yeah, it's the old "what goes around comes around" business that we don't believe when we're young, carefree and a tad foolish! LOL....and the reaping: you sew one kernel of corn but reap how many more kernels? YIKES.

love ya, Kamma!

Hello!! My friend Marian is an early morning sneezer, too! I'll have to ask her if she's counted the number of consecutive sneezes! :)

Loved your post about why you were AWOL..especially the bit about the vac. cleaner guy and the poor child! Do you think the kid really belonged to the salesman..or was he just to get their foot in the door? I hate door to door stuff...they're not supposed to do that around here, but some still do. My hubby is a softie and usually ends up with another magazine subscription we don't need....or worse. I just "get em out" as fast as I can. Mean me.

Yes, Lost got a little weird with it's storyline (or lack of), but I still love it. Each season, I hope they'll give us the answer we've been waiting for..they'd better this year since it's the last!

Hope you're having a great week! Dana

Oh, so my gigantor sneezes, which cause people to react in terror as if I'm a psycho-killer, are a possible genetic defect passed down to us cousins by a tormented fore-parent?
