Many of you have asked where in the world I've been.

All I know is that after 7 plus years of blogging and a different lappy, which I don’t like, I seem to have lost my blogging fervor.

Someday, when you least expect it, I will post again.

For those of you still waiting I say thank you.

Meanwhile, I am rather prolific on twitter. Find me: @KeethaB

The Best Laid Plans - - -

Of mice and men - - -

We all know about those. Well, I guess it applies to bloggers as well as to mice and men.

Remember the blogging picnic that I have already postponed once? Well it appears now I need to cancel it.

My mom is in the process of dying. To be honest with you I'm not sure how she has hung onto her very thin life thread this long, but she has. This picture was just taken on Sunday when our kids stopped by to see her.

Our family is going to gather in next weekend.

School starts for me on Monday, the 11th, so I'm afraid I just need to cancel our blogging picnic for this summer. I will remember the idea for another year.

Thanks for your understanding and patience with me on this.

Ok well you don't need to call me back, then. :)

Love ya, Mom.

I can't find my blog said...

I'm so sorry to hear that. I know that her condition has gotten worse. Take all the time that you need, all of your bloggy pals will be here to virtually lift you up.

(((hugs))) and prayers for God's comfort in this hard time.

I don't know how much detail to give online - - - but it is very difficult to go "see" her now. She's at 70 pounds (and part of that is fluid) and disoriented. My dad broke down and sobbed on the phone to me today. I've never heard/seen him cry ever before.

Bless my sister Pam's heart, she is MUCH better with all of this than I am. She has a very tender way with mom.

We are praying that mom will just go quietly to sleep now.

Gosh, Keether, I am so sorry. I have been there...watching my brother "drift off".
My heart is hurting for you now.
You ARE and WILL be in my prayers !

Can you remind me(us) where your Mom & Dad live ? I can't remember if they are close to you or not.

Love,
Jackie

I'm sorry to hear that. I hope your family finds some peace being together next weekend.

Mom and Dad live right over on Adams Street here in town.

"It is very difficult to go "see" her now", but it is very important. As the Doctor told us when my sister was dying, the hearing is the last to go, so be sure to talk to her, let her know you're there and you love her and that it's okay for her to go. You're in my prayers.

Sorry. God bless you all. This is not a surprise to Him.

On a totally different note -- I am a Flickr member. (There's a link to our photostream on my blog, if you want to see the photos.) Membership is free, although you can get more features for $29/year, which I am paying. When I post photos to my blog, I usually use one already posted to Flickr, and thus, I'm not actually adding to my Blogger photo storage, but simply adding a URL to the Blogger post, rather than uploading a photo.

There are probably other services that allow the same sort of thing.

I'll be glad to answer questions if you are interested.

God's best.

Thanks for the offer, DL. I'll keep it in mind. I am working on several different "trial and error" solutions.

I am sorry, Keetha. I know your mom has been weak for many years. This has to be hard on your family. I will be praying for all of you.

I think it's always sad to see a loved one in a time of their life as this, but I can only imagine. Praying for all of you during this time of "transition"...

Thanks so much for the words of support from all of you.

I'll be praying too, Keetha. I was thinking about her today (my mom asked how she was) and I started thinking about how she might just want to go "home."

I'm praying for you all and for her home-going to be peaceful and in God's sovereign timing.

Keetha Broyles said...

To be honest with you Jaena, mom is getting so disoriented now that I'm not entirely sure WHAT she understands or wants. I don't think she even knows.

However, a couple of weeks ago, before she got this disoriented I think she WOULD have expressed that she would far rather have just slipped home to Heaven in her sleep than to linger on, dwindling down to NOTHING (physically I'm speaking - - - she's at around 70 pounds now - - - if you thought she was thin before, she is positively skeletal now) and I KNOW she did NOT want to get disoriented like this. Her siblings have all spent the last several years of their lives mentally disoriented and that was ONE thing mom has never had to suffer with - - - until now.
