I HAVE SHINGLES!!!
I've never had shingles before, but FH who moonlights by day as an ER PA just confirmed my fears.
The painful rash I have developed is my very first bout of shingles.
Sometimes it is rather handy to have your own personal traveling diagnostician.

True, I DID have chicken pox as a kid.
True, my mother suffered with shingles from time to time. (I blame HER gene pool)
So here I am - - - on my first EVER Married Children's Tour - - - blessed with shingles.

That is terrible. I have several friends that have had them. They suffered something awful. Trust you do not. What a shame they picked your kids visiting time to arrive. It is my understanding, they are caused by nerves. Settle down.

We keep saying that we need to get the Shingles vaccination. Perhaps I should call the pharmacy and make the appt for next week since we've both had chicken pox and are 'of that age'. Whatever that is.

Hopefully it will be mild. You will want to be careful around your grandkids. My husband had the shingles and my daughter had only had one chicken pox shot. She ended up getting chicken pox from being around him. It was a mild case but it can happen.
OH NO ! After watching my husband suffer, I got the shingles shot this year. Not foolproof of course but hoping it will prevent it. I'm so sorry. hopefully your kid tour will take your mind off the pain. So sorry!
Oh dear, what a total bummer while on the married kids tour! Seriously. I know what it's like, I've had it too a few times...its NOT a fun thing. I'm sure FH will see that you get treated for it right away! Feel better!

Oh, my! I'm not one who takes a lot of vaccinations....like flu, but I think I may take the shingles vaccination!!

I'm so sorry ... shingles is NOT fun. Praying that they won't interfere with your travels ... that you'll be able to have a wonderful time in spite of those pesky shingles.

OUCH!!! I will pray for quick recovery and never to get them again...My sister gets them...I have not yet and I am the older sister...and I had chicken pox when I was a child...

oh man....I have had that twice....once a long time ago...and about 3 years ago again...to me the worst part was how miserable I was prior to the rash...there is medication for it now....it does help.

I've had the shot and I'm hoping I'll be spared. I hope you aren't suffering too much. (Though the game last night inflicted some pain, I'm sure.)
