I just really do love me some o' dis:
Rap schmap - - - these "boys" had the whole rhythmic talk-sing thing down pat long before rappers were a gleam in their mammas' eyes.

Welcome to Keetha's place. Come on in, kick off your shoes, and sip a latté. His grace is new each morning. (Late Summer Wisconsin Sunset - photo by Keetha)

Those brought back some memories. While they werent from my era, it was one I could appreciate. I used to sing that Big Bad John song to my brother Jon. Of course he hated when I did it, so I did it pretty often! LOL
AMEN! This was music!
That they did! Hot Rod Lincoln is one of my all time favorite songs. I am partial to the remake by Commander Cody, although I greatly enjoyed the original well.
will have to play these for the husby
I never knew that Hot Rod Lincoln was from someone else than Commander Cody & Lost Planet Airmen. I like this version too now.
Hi Keetha! It's our growing season, so I haven't been doing as much blog reading as usual. I'm taking the day off from our fields today...too hot for me! I have been reading your blog this morning, finally caught up again...love this tree story, love that you were at camp and I have found a present for my sister in your postcard enlargements...she will love that. And I have a chipmunk friend too this year, no Buster to give him the run for his money! Good chatting with you today!
Hahaha, this is great. This is what music is supposed to be, although i will admit that rap or rock is my music of choice when I'm working out.
This was definitely music, sister!
I just can't even get into the rap crap.
Thanks for the memories - and the laughs! Wasn't it nice to be able to UNDERSTAND what was being said - and all without any foul language, too!
Love all these songs and (bonus!) 'Big Bad John' was kinda my dad's self-appointed theme song since he was John and he was a big man.
Fun songs! (Rap's grandpa, hehe...)
Ah, the 60's! Just the screenshot of your post looks gorgeous to me. Always a pleasure walking down nostalgia lane! LOVED the songs and - Steve Martin (!) in the MCcall video.
Have to bookmark this page :D
Oh, Thanks, Keetha! What a pleasure!
