Many of you have asked where in the world I've been.

All I know is that after 7 plus years of blogging and a different lappy, which I don’t like, I seem to have lost my blogging fervor.

Someday, when you least expect it, I will post again.

For those of you still waiting I say thank you.

Meanwhile, I am rather prolific on twitter. Find me: @KeethaB

Got Butterburgers????

.

We do!!!!

FINALLY!!!

Just opened TODAY.

Isn't "she" cute?

People lined up to get their butterburgers.

LOTS of people.

I walked in the door and found my friend Shelli.

You remember Shelli, she's my self-appointed photo journalist.

I joined Shelli and her family.

I was happy, excited, JUBILANT
That the Marion Culver's is now OPEN!!!

And what did I eat?
A butterburger and a pot roast sandwich.

And how was my food?

Ummmm, Ummm, Ummm, Ummm, UMMMM!!!

It was soooooo good I inhaled every bite

Wiped up my little paws,

And tucked into a chocolate shake.

A FREE chocolate shake.

And what's my Culver's verdict?

GO

Don't walk,

RUN to your nearest Culver's

And enjoy the yumminess.

Sunday Reruns - Marriage Advice, Fisherhubby Style

.

Don't you just LOVE bloggy Sunday reruns!?! Thanks so much to Chari over at Happy to Design for hosting Sunday Favorites.

Today I'm rerunning a little post which highlights my hubby's sense of humor. Enjoy!

"Still Learning After All These Years"
(First posted March 6, 2007)

Greg (Fisherhubby) and I went to a service Sunday evening which honored forty couples who have each been married 50 or more years, my parents being one of the couples.

Inspired by their list of secrets to a long marriage, Greg jotted HIS list on the back of a tithing envelope and handed it to me:

1) Learn to say "I'm sorry."

2) Learn to say "Yes, dear."

3) Learn to say, "No, those clothes don't make you look fat."

4) Always put the toilet seat down.

I observed that he didn't add, "Don't drop your dirty clothes on the floor."

He said that was what he was going to learn in the NEXT 32 years of marriage - - - - -

"We're All Family"

.

We have a little tradition in our family of including anyone related to YOU as also being related to ME! This makes for some really fun and noisy large family gatherings.

I took these pictures on one such occasion, our little Granddaughter Piper's birthday party back in June. For SOME unknown reason, probably life getting in the way, I waited until NOW to post them.

Enjoy.

Keri, our oldest daughter and the hostess with the mostest at this party.

Korie, our baby girl and Keri's little sis.

My dad, John, helping my Fisherhubby, Greg, solve the world's problems.

Haley, Keri's good friend and our "adopted" daughter.

Amanda, Keri's S-I-L, and little Blake

And these are the cousins!

Our Granddaughter Kaeleigh, who just started Kindergarten.

Our Grandson and Kaeleigh's little brother, Mackinley

Kaeleigh and Mackinley's little sister, and the birthday girl, Piper.

Owen, Amanda's oldest son, and the same age as his cousin Kaeleigh.

Chase, Amanda's middle son, and the same age as his cousin Mackinley.

And last but not least, Amanda's baby,
Blake - who is of course, the same age as his cousin Piper.

When we all get together, what a party we have!

Thrifty Vintage Thingies - - - Woodstock Revisited

.
It's THAT time again!!!!
Vintage Thingies Thursday over at Coloradolady and Thrifty Thursday at Bloggeritaville.

Be sure you click on both of the icons or links above to check out what everyone else is posting.

WE INTERRUPT OUR REGULARLY SCHEDULED PROGRAM OF THRIFTY VINTAGE THINGIES TO BRING YOU THIS BREAKING NEWS:

Today on my way home from school, I decided to run into our new, opened in January, Meijer's to pick up a few things. This is NOT a regular stop for me - - - I've only darkened those doors TWICE before.

In the parking lot I discovered my Thrifty Vintage Thingie for this post. It is toooooo good to hold until later, so it is preempting the vintage thingies I already have lined up to post. As you will see, it is DEFINITELY vintage, and since all I did was take FREE photos of it, I think I was totally thrifty too!!!!

And now, without further ado, (pause for effect) I give you:

A genuine '70's Voltzwagen Peace-Love-Joy-mobile!!!! It HAS to be Voltzwagen to be genuine.

Can you believe it???? I think it came straight from Woodstock. Here, let me HELP you see some of it's lovin' features:

Do you see the hula dancer on the dashboard? And check out those seat covers!!! I think that green branch looking thing is actually the ceiling padding drooping down - - - but we won't worry about that when we have all this LOVE goin' around, will we????

Check out the grass skirt curtains. I'm sure they are going to make some of you designer chicks GREEN with envy - - - why, next thing we know you'll be running out to find some of these for your OWN peace-love-joy-mobiles!!!

And what would a peace-love-joy-mobile be WITHOUT a back window full of Beatles/Grateful Dead sticker love????

Still Slaying 'Em

.

Fisherhubby would want you to know that he is an equal opportunity fisherman - - - he'll fish in any lake if given the opportunity. He's catching 'em in Indiana now that we're no longer on vacation.

He's just an all around equal opportunity guy - - - equal opportunity couch ornament, equal opportunity fisherman, what's next????

(This blog is not responsible for any NCAA football backing that may be expressed on fisherhubby's clothing. We are simply here to report and may or may not agree with the opinions expressed on his shirts and hats.)

I'm Really Scrappy

.
On Nov. 24, 2008 I received this award from Molly. A few weeks ago I received it from Vivienne, and today I received it AGAIN from Mub!!!

I must be REALLY SCRAPPY!!!! (Is scrappy good? I kinda think NO)

Thanks so much Mub. I'm going to repost what I posted in November - - - - enjoy!!!

"If you choose to accept this mission, you will tell ten honest things about yourself and than tag seven others. This tape will self-destruct in five seconds."

TEN HONEST THINGS BY KEETHA ABOUT KEETHA:

1) I HATE housework. All of it.

2) I love a clean house.

3) Facts 1 & 2 cannot co-exist peacefully inside of me.

4) I HATE it when my kids leave my drawers, cupboards, and closets hanging open - - - someone will SEE all the mess I'm hiding in there. I don't want to CLEAN up the mess due to #1.

5) I am much more a Mary than a Martha. (Luke 10: 38 - 42)

6) My legs are hairy. No - - - not like yours - - - mine belong on a hobbit or the cavemen in the Geico commercials.

7) My outsides are getting really, really, really old even though my brain keeps telling me I haven't aged a bit.

8) For me an "exciting" evening includes putting on draw-string jammies, blogging, eating something really good, and hibernating in a big chair to watch "Around the Horn," "Pardon the Interruption," and part of one crime drama - - - then my lights go OUT.

9) Everyone who meets me in person teases me - - - - unceasingly. (I keep wondering why God created me with a sign on my forehead that says, "pick on me.") Once at church our youth pastor's 4 year old son picked on me. Shoot - - - my two year old grandson called me "Papoo" for about four months, KNOWING that was Grandpa and not me.

10) I read everyday - - - and frequently fall asleep with my reading light on and sleep that way all night long. When I traveled to Wisconsin with my dad and sister, I learned this is a genetic trait.

TO WHOM I AM PASSING THIS AWARD: I don't know which of my blog fans is "up" for doing one of these just now. So - - - - if you're a blogger, and you're reading this, and it strikes your fancy, consider yourself tagged, copy the award to your blog, link back to me, and post ten honest things about yourself.

On the Way Home From the Airport - - -

.

Friday afternoon after we picked Kyle up at the airport, we decided to drop in at Korie's house on the way home.

I knew all you "housie" people would LOVE to see it!

Living room complete with a large couch-ornament.

Looking into the dining room from the living room.

Breezeway with family room re-do. Don't you LOVE the brick-a-brack on the coffee table? So chic.

Kitchen. I SERIOUSLY love that little island with stools.

Ah Ha!!! Look what Korie had on the go - - - she MUST be related to me!

After the house tour we all had supper together at Canal Point in Broad Ripple.

Return of the Lone Ranger

.
Fisherhubby and I headed to Indy this afternoon to catch our Swedish Fish at the air port. We got there with about a half an hour to spare.

Hubby was glad to fill the time with a snack from his FAVORITE air port concession. Notice he's dressed like a true Fisherhubby.

Turns out it was a GOOD thing we planned to arrive a bit early as the plane LANDED about 20 minutes ahead of schedule - - - have you EVER HEARD OF SUCH!!!

And there he came - - - our little world traveler home safe and sound and all in one piece.

He greeted us with hugs all around, and then we took a good look at him:

Seems we sent him away a typical American College Boy and he returned a Swedish World Traveler.

After he retrieved his luggage - - -

We loaded up and headed toward home.

He regaled us with stories of friends he'd met, tasks he'd completed, places he'd seen, and new skills he'd learned.

He's already planning his Europe Summer 2010. It will be a new and improved trip based on things he learned this time around in Sweden.

I guess I have to get used to being a Jet Set Mom. (Translated: I, mom, "set" at home while he "jets.")

It's an Exciting Day in Blogland!!!

.
No picture with this post - - - will you read or will you turn away??? Aw, come on - - - give the words a CHANCE.

Just a few things I want to spout about tonight.

First of all: I have missed blogging this week. I have missed all of you. School started, and it saps my time and my energy, and SOMETIMES even my sense of humor. BUT - - - I shall prevail, so keep CHECKING in on me.

Second: About the
DUST on that sewing machine pedal in my TVTT post. I did SERIOUSLY consider dusting and reshooting the picture. Then I thought, "Where's the reality in THAT!?!" 'Cause people, there IS some SERIOUS DUST in my life. SERIOUS. Besides, THAT particular dust has been collecting on that pedal (it's hidden in the cabinet where I never even THOUGHT to dust it) for the entire 34+ years of my marriage. By now it has EARNED the RIGHT to peace and quiet. Maybe next week I'll show you the cobwebs we have around here - - - - but then again, maybe not!

Third: Brunhilda and Borris Bearsaltandpepper. Yes, they are hibernating quite happily back on the kitchen table where they shall STAY until I feel brave enough to pull them out of retirement for another series of guest posts. The blogland reaction to them has been a mixed bag of nuts to say the least. Some people actually, you know, READ the posts and "got" them and loved them. Others just saw the little bears and said to themselves, (and then LATER out loud TO ME) "stupid." Well, the B & B posts were a GROUP project on vacation - - - all 4 of us got into the act.The other three gave me ideas for pictures and helped me stage them. I poured my creative juices into making the posts and writing the stories. We just had a ball doing it. I KNOW that should be ENOUGH - - - but I just gotta tell ya, the naysayers hurt my bloggy feelings to their very quick. It may be a LONG TIME before I brave airing B&B creativity on the world again. (As you can see, I broke down and posted one tiny picture after all.)

Fourth: I just opened my e-mail to find a message from a "little girl" I used to baby-sit for 37+ years ago!!! I didn't recognize the e-mail and NEARLY deleted it as spam without even opening it!!! Oh how GLAD I am that a little voice in my head said, "STOP - - - don't delete that without seeing what it is!!" Lori - - - if you find your way to this blog WELCOME and it was soooooooo fun to hear from you today.

LAST: The lone world traveler will be back home in Indiana tomorrow. Fisherhubby and I will be waiting for him at the airport. I'm pretty sure he will never be the same again.

Thanks for READING!! Hugs and Kisses to you ALL.

Thrifty Vintage Thingies - Dolls Who Don't Sew

.
It's THAT time again!!!!
Vintage Thingies Thursday over at Coloradolady and Thrifty Thursday at Bloggeritaville.

Be sure you click on both of the icons or links above to check out what everyone else is posting.

I'm a "day late and a dollar short" today - - - but here comes my post anyway!!!

This is my "Christmas Baby Doll," so called for the very original reason that she was my Christmas present when I was in Kindergarten.

I'll never forget that Christmas. My sister and I awoke, and thinking our parents were already up we headed down the stairs. About halfway down, we heard our dad calling us to come back up.

He asked if we saw the tree at the bottom of the stairs. I answered that I did. He said, "what did you see?" I replied, "I saw a pink doll for Pam and a blue one for me." I was right.

Isn't she a beauty? She's wearing baby clothes that our daughter Korie wore, about 12 - 18 month size.

I've already shown you that she makes a GREAT wig trimming stand for blue mylar wigs.

This is my OTHER thrifty vintage item for today.

Nope - - - not the senior picture of Kyle, who returns from Sweden TOMORROW btw.
Nope - - - not the Willow mother-daughter figurine, though I certainly DO love that.
Nope - - - not the tea cup, though tea cups ARE up there on my list of favorites.

It's the little table which is ACTUALLY a - - -

Sewing machine cabinet.

Not just ANY sewing machine, but the one that belonged to my Grandma Butcher. I used to use it, but since I really do HATE to sew, now I just keep it for its beauty, sentimentality, and nostalgic value.

It is not a treadle sewing machine, it has this pedal which is mounted inside the cabinet at just the perfect height to be operated by your knee.

Oh - - - the DUST on that pedal, that's vintage too, and I threw it into the post at no additional charge, 'cause that's just the way I roll around here.
