Many of you have asked where in the world I've been.

All I know is that after 7 plus years of blogging and a different lappy, which I don’t like, I seem to have lost my blogging fervor.

Someday, when you least expect it, I will post again.

For those of you still waiting I say thank you.

Meanwhile, I am rather prolific on twitter. Find me: @KeethaB

I´ll have to show this to my students next week when we study vegetation in World Geography! Thanks, Teacher!

I MAY take you up on that! I´m out of my league teaching World Geography --- WAY out of my league! Just because I've traveled a lot doesn't make me an expert in all things related to the subject!

Well, here's the "short course" Lichens are not plants, as we had originally thought - - - but rather are a fungus with either an alga or a cyanobacteria living in symbiosis with them. The fungus provides the support and the alga or bacteria can perform photosynthesis and provide the food - - - thus both are happy as clams at high tide.
